I was just wondering what the exact definition of turbine time was because I was looking around and I found some place that said Turboprop time could be considered as turbine time or something like that. I just wanted some clarification.
I thought if it was not a glider or had pistons and went whiz whiz whiz when you started it, then turbine.
If someone else proves me wrong it is just that simple

Pretty sure just cause it has props on the front of the turbine engine its still turbine time, just not "jet time" I guess is what some may say.

This may be obvious to most but some may miss it so I'll clarify one thing, Many piston engines have Turbochargers, this is NOT a TurboProp. A TurboProp is a prop that is rotated by a TURBINE engine.

Meaning a Seneca II is not TURBINE TIME.

A Caravan is TURBINE TIME.

Now, if you flew Right seat on a Caravan...how would that be logged? Total Time, SIC Time and Turbine Time???
No, the turbo Seneca won't work but if you've got time in a C-208, that works.
Now, let me ask this question. How good is single-engine turboprop time in your logbook? Only reason why I am asking is because I am one of those Caravan drivers and it seems like although I have the experience in the weather and such, it doesn't help with multi PIC. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
