I dont understand how asking people to not volunteer to work on their days off if considered a "Job action"?

Bid's for June came out today on the net. Something isn't right though still

There's 176 captains AND fo's in STL
In Richmond, there's 58 CA's and 83 FO's, and scheduling says even before this, they were short on captains in Richmond!!

We still have US Airways flying for the next month as well. I think I'm just gonna figure out women, prolly easier than figuring out this company

ANY organized action or drive (other than a NLRB approved strike) which can measureably affect the company in ANY WAY WHATSOEVER is considered self-help and is illegal. This has been upheld many times in the past.

If a union in any way sponsors, encourages, publicizes, or communicates such an action they will be held financially liable for the company's damages.

In fact, if a union fails to take aggressive action to discourage self-help activities, they can still be found liable. This is why unions will usually denounce any such action which they become aware of.

Unions have been fined millions (maybe tens of millions) in the past for this sort of thing.

Individuals who organize these activities could also get fined or fired.

Just looked at the bid pack
The lines that I have looked at so far look pretty good.
I only lost 8 spots this month, I know that is not consolation to the ones that lost their seat.
It still smells like something is going behind the scenes to me

RIC got pummelled again with this US Airways flying. We have 400 hours while stl has 900 hours in US Air.

If the rumors I have heard of furloughs are true and if that is in fact the case you guys are always welcome at Comair. Comair is currently hiring 12 a week for the foreseeable future. Anyone who might want to consider it send me a PM and I will gladly forward your resume to our HR folks.

Greyhound Hiring Hotline, (800) 669-9612

At this time, Greyhound is not hiring drivers. Please check back late-August for driver hiring locations.

A Greyhound Professional Motorcoach Operator
Our mission is to provide the opportunity for anyone to travel throughout North America with safety, dignity and convenience. As a professional motorcoach operator, you will safely transport our customers and packages nationwide. Greyhound is a great place to work and offers competitive pay plus excellent health benefits and 401k plan.

Qualifications
Our standards for professional motorcoach operators are the highest in the industry.

To qualify, you must:
Be at least 22 years of age
Pass a DOT physical, criminal background check and drug screening
Have a valid driver's license
Have an good driving record
Successfully complete Greyhound's driver training program

Professional Driver Training Program
We invest six to seven weeks of training in our motorcoach operators and expect results. There are three phases of training.

Phase One
Candidates have two weeks to complete 20 hours of computer-based training. Our hiring managers are flexible and will work with you to schedule training at your convenience. For instance, you can complete your training in 5 days (4 hours a day) or 2 ½ days (8 hours a day).

Phase Two
If selected, you will attend two weeks of behind-the-wheel training in Atlanta, Richmond or Reno. Greyhound will provide lodging, meals and a student per diem allowance during phase two.

Phase Three
You will complete your training at the hiring location. During these three weeks you will learn driving routes with a driving mentor. You will continue to receive your per diem allowance.

This completely sucks, even Greyhound is not hiring. The good news is you can take the computer based training at home and behind-the-wheel in Richmond while sitting reserve. I wonder if the Waste Management folks are hiring.
