This isn't a surprise. We knew that DL would cut back on domestic flying and keep focusing on the international market. JFK is a big international gateway for Delta, you should see the DL parking lot up there in the afternoon. I'm willing to bet we will continue to see increases in block hours, especially out of JFK. Guess who brings all the connecting international pax to JFK? That's right! Comair.

Did Comair interview applicants this week? When they stop interviewing then it's time to worry.

 

I was thinking if I don't hear anything by Friday I might give 'em a call (That would be day 10). Can anyone offer any insight into whether or not they think that is a good idea?

Yes, nine of us were in the group that I interviewed with yesterday.

 

What was the buzz about everything over there? Did they mention the rate of new hires like they did a month ago? (280 for the year, they only had about 70 so far, classes every monday through aug, then slowing til december.)

 

I was just called by Art this morning, he said I got hired. I interview June 10th. I have yet to hear about a class date. They said it would be at least August and I would be in a pool until then. Oh well at least now I can worry about whether or not I'm gonna get screwed again like at eagle.

 

Where did you sit in the interview room? I was the older guy in the group. I fully expect to be rejected.

 

Ok so here is what i think is happening. They took alot more candidates in the last week of may and first week of june then they were planning on and filled up all te july classes. Now they are waiting for july to actually get here to fill up the august classes. Thats what Im thinking, and for me thinking hurts a bit, so be nice.
