If you flew with a 3 1/2 year Comair Captain, I'd fill out an ASAP report pronto.

Upgrade might be down to 5 years, but not 3.5. The latest vacancy, lowest Captain (JFK) is number 1006, hired 12/01/2003. This individual starts upgrade training end of August, completes IOE November 2008 (give or take).

November 2008 - December 2003 = 5 years.

Better check your numbers again. The lowest captain upgraded was 4 and a half years.

I think they mentioned projected hiring was going to be around 60/month for the remainder of the year. Apparently, the reason for the continued hiring is to cover additional flying for Delta previously flown by Mesa.
