"I hope that not taking the 7th class and waiting for the 14th is not going to hurt me. If they were to have the 7th as the last class, I would shoot myself!!!"
seems like the rumors i've been hearing have been pointing to classes wrapping up in august/september. but like everything else in our world nothing is guaranteed. i was offered the 14th and asked if there was anything sooner. thats when art told me the 7th had a slot open, so i took it. i figure if there's 12 people in a class, thats 12 more people under me on the big list. my dad missed getting fired by about 5 seniority numbers after 9/11 and he was a 20 year captain at the time. you never know what will happen so you gotta do whatever you can to get an edge.
but hey that's just me being paranoid, best of luck to ya im sure it wont matter

I wouldn't worry yourself too much saabguy. Me and another guy in the 14th class were both scheduled at Eagle on May 26. They called and scrapped us a week before, but there was a very sure sense of doom the weeks before. All the hiring news was bad, oil was shooting up like a rocket, and friends in the "RJ Courses" were being postponed and cancelled. It was about three weeks of knowing the end was coming. Honestly, when they called and cancelled our class, I was disappointed but not surprised.
I know having a regional class cancelled doesn't make me an expert, but I've got a good feeling on this one. Part of me is operating on the "lightning doesn't strike twice" principle. But in the big picture, you can't control what you can't control. I'm gonna go fishing, play golf, and read a lot of non-aviation literature so that when I start class I'll have had a break!
Just think, in three weeks you'll have worried for nothing.
