Well, you have a valid point there. The funny funny thing that when it comes to regs I was walking FAR/AIM as a CFI. As an airline pilot I figure that I know about 20% of what I used to. I really think that going to an interview straight from a CFI gig requires a lot less study than for someone that flew for the airlines for couple of years. Oh well, gotta go study for my interview. Good luck to you all!
I appreciate everyone's insight into the system schematics thing. I've got the fuel system and hydraulic system down pat, and I found an electrical schematic that's far easier to understand than the one in the POH, so I'm currently going over that.

Just wanted to give you guys an update. I had my interview and it went well. The sim ride could've gone a lot better, but the check airmen that did my HR/Tech was very happy with my interview with him. His exact words at the end of the interview were, "I'm gonna recommend that you get hired. Don't throw any of your mail away. Look for either a FedEx package or something in the mail." I don't want to get my hopes up, but can't help it. Is this a good sign? Consistent with what other people that were hired were told? Or should I take it with a grain of salt? Someone in another thread mentioned that they're only hiring 10/month. I have a very hard time believing that I could be one of those 10 for this month.
Lastly, he said I'd get something in 5-10 days. Is that business days? Or total days? So far it's been more than 5 total days, but less than 10.

I would assume 5-10 business days.
As to whether you get a class date or water-wings...who knows?

Thanks guys. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I was told that they're hiring into class dates for the EMB, but the pool for the CRJ. He asked if I had a preference (I'm a CFI, btw) I said I hadn't thought about it, and he suggested I take first available to get a seniority number. So I said, "Sounds good to me." There were a few EMB class dates written on the board. Three dates-I think 6/2 and 7/2 and possibly 8/2. He said he thought those classes were all full.

I was there june 5th. I got a call from them on the 8th giving me the option of A/C. After much thought and plenty of advice from this forum, I have chosen the aug 4 EMB class. Best decision of my life. From the sounds of it, your in. Expect the Sept EMB class or CRJ pool #50 or more and a Jan or Feb class date.

From: Skywest poolie
They called you on a Sunday? The day you interviewed, did they brief you not to throw any mail away b/c they could send a letter via FedEx or US Mail depending on when they send the letter that day and who's already come? Did you also receive a packet after they called? Maybe his debrief replaces the call.
All those from my interview class that were hired got a phone call. A few people got called 5 days after the interview, I got called 11 days after - they're typically busy down in slc/ st. george.
Honestly - it would make little sense to be a poolie now, especially with the higher pay, better chance of holding a line, and getting a jump on all the crj poolies - remember that you don't get a seniority number until you start class. Good luck! Back to studying ***** Switch limitations!
