Red face Colgan Interview 6/2

Hi just wondering if anyone else interviewed in LGA on Monday with Colgan and if they heard anything yet.

Really laid back process. The sim went great and the face to face interview was only about 5 minutes. They sent me for fingerprints and drug testing and then home. Said they need to figure out the class schedule and then they would call me in the next day or two.

Does this mean Its looking good? I'm watching the phone like a maniac.

Chuck called me too after I submitted my stuff initally. He did a quick phone screen and then said "we'll see you on the 2nd and throw you in the sim and see how you do". I never heard back from them with details on the interview so I emailed HR and they immediatly emailed all the details for the interview on 6/2. Definately keep on them because I think stuff can tend to fall between the cracks. It was funny because on Monday I did the sim and fingerprinting and then they gave me instructions to go do the drug test and catch an earlier flight home. One problem was that they forgot to interview me. When I asked them "are you going to interview me?" they thought they had already done it. We all had a good laugh about it. So we went ahead and sat down for real short time and did the "interview".

All in all they are all very nice people. I hope they call me.

Good luck

Colgan is not the best place around but consider this over flight instructing I would say get the 121 experience and maybe checkout greener pastures when hiring starts to turn around.

Colgan is an ok place when the majors are hiring. Since it looks like the majors wont be hiring any time soon I do not know if this is somewhere you want to be long term.

Good advice Juice thanks. When I got home from my Colgan interview I got a call from Pinnacle. They want me to get another 35 hours to meet their 50 hrs in 6mo requirement and then they will interview me. I just passed my ATP checkride this month so I feel like I am quite proficient right now, probably the best I have ever been other than the day I got my CFI. I don;t see how popping around in a 152 for another 35 hours is going to make me better but I guess policy is policy. I'm just trying to find a decent job before the music stops and there are no chairs left.

Even if you have a chair it can still be pulled out from under you. Just keep that in mind. A lot of guys are on the edge of their chairs including yours truly.

Good point...I hope all works out for you Eagle guys. That was choice #1 for me until they did pull that chair out from under me the day before my interview.

If they sent you for the drug test and said they would call, that's a very good sign. Good luck to you.

That's funny, the same thing happened to me back when I did my interview. They forgot about me and I ended up sitting there most of the day. But, it was worth it. Got the job and it's been a pleasant experience so far.

Thanks Fries. Makes me feel better. The whole day was very fast. Left my house in Boston at 630am shuttle to LGA and was back in my driveway a little after 2pm. Very quick interview process.
