Let me give you a little history lesson. 9E's -900 were bougt by 9e, with money hard earned by the pilots. We had no say in it, it was a surprise to us. I (and most other guys I know) could have cared less about them. We would have rather had the money go towards our labor in our next contract. And then there's Colgan.....
And it was the same in 99 when the contract was signed. "Hey if ya'll dont take a raise you will be flying RJ's!!" So what, we like our saabs, show me the money instead. By some miracle the RJ's came anyways...
9e lost their MSP hub to Mesaba and lots of saabs as well. They have always been swapping Saabs. And in 2002 (?) 9E lost all 30 something of the saabs to XJ. And Compass took over MEM-BOS from 9e. Maybe even MEM-YYZ too but im not positive about that one. So dont act like 9e has never had flying "taken away" by another airline...

Oh goody! 9e lost 16 airplanes that should have been ASA's, even tho Pinnacle, not DL, bought them with money that should have gone to a contract! Goody some guys might get displaced or furloughed! Class acts.

You need to direct your frustration where it belongs, at airline managers, not at the pilots. And get off your expressjet pedestal for just an hour....

so whats your reasoning behind 9e pilots not having a contract for 3 years because they refuse to bend over and take it like so many others have?

that's what happens when you get guys with 1-3 years of airline experience arguing anonymously with guys that have 8-30 years of experience

Like if UAL goes out of business? Or DAL keeps cutting regional feed? What will happen then? Since you "know" what will happen, please enlighten us? Its pretty lame how you make no attempt to conceal the fact that you hope the majors keep giving up scope. Good Luck with that.

I think Delta realized they made a bad decision picking up these CHEEEAAAPPPP airlines (freedom/pinnacle) to do their DC flying, and are now getting back to the ASA Comair Skywest buddies who have been here the whole time wondering WHY pinnacle is in ATL or F8 in JFK............. well they got what they paid for with those airlines. stupid delta

and that was a pointless post also

NO freaking regional owns its flying ( unless branded ) it belongs to the mainline carrier who doles it out..... any suggestion that XJT owns IAH or ASA owns ATL or any other combination you choose is just plain ignorant. Flame away children.

Think about the size of the operations that Delta is trying to cut from the Delta Connection group. Small contract compared to everyone else. Easier to pay off if the court says no way to the cancelling of the contract. They are just looking to stream-line the operation. There maybe more to come, who knows?

Delta wants more 900's not fewer. That means that they must have truly felt the Pinnicle operation in Atlanta was hurting them badly from a customer service side. As far as flights being blocked at less then flight time I looked at routes where Pinnicle flew and Delta flew like TLH and the Pinnicle block times were longer then the mainline block times. Delta has had at least 3 major meetings with their connection partners in the last year where they emphasized that under performing operations were going to be cut and cut fast. Management failed at some carriers to heed those warnings. We can't afford to lose even one customer in todays market. Delta has to strive for the best customer service possible in every aspect of their operation. The mainline has made enormous strides in the last 2 years. Its still is not where it should be however it is improving. The connection feed is worse then it was two years ago and is now managements top priority. The mainline has to pay all the costs associated with a misconnected or mistreated passenger. Those costs can be huge. There is not time to wait years for improvement in todays market it has to happen fast. No connection carrier has been blindsided. They were all told this many times in the last year.

I didn't realize that. That changes everything.

Cut the companies that can't or won't meet the standards they agreed to..and cut them FAST!

This is nothing personal towards RJ pilots. But if the contractor's foul-ups are taking money from the mainline...that contractor should and must be canned.
