We've just started operating with a spare. I hope DAL will give us an opportunity to improve our perfomance...They finally dropped one of our stx route. To where we operate it once a week, and on the weekend mainline DAL will use their aircraft. June 27 we are taking delivery of our 10th CRJ900.

From a regional pilot, good luck. I hope you do take back scope. I don't see it happening, however.

Me either. Lots of sound-good, chest puffing. But when it comes down to operating in the worst airline cost enviroment in a generation, well, I think we know what will actually happen.

Go back to your sandbox Nick. All pilots have something to worry about. Mergers, oil, etc. I was furloughed for five years the last time and don't want to go through with that again. However, look at the global landscape. Emirates, Lufthansa, Air France/KLM are all on a tear. The only way the US carriers will compete is if they have the same global network. This merger will do that and then some. Also, check out the equity markets sometime. In fact, try and qualify for a loan on a home 5X your income. See what happens. The legacies are facing a cash crunch unlike any they have ever seen. The reason we emerged from bankruptcy the last time is that the credit markets were lending money like mad. Now that well is dried up. You go into Ch.11 now, you may never come out. The only way to negotiate with Boeing or Airbus is with cash. DAL/NWA will have nearly $7-8 billion in cash. That's power the others won't have.

As far as 9E, it appears they promised and underdelivered. They told DAL they could fly a particular schedule as DAL asked and then realized they couldn't do it. I think this is more house cleaning than anything. That and DAL is dwindling the number of regionals that will be players in the merged entity.

I also would expect one or two more to be Regionals to be cut or trimmed.
It is a sad fact. It is not you or us, it is the fact that this industry is cyclical, and not it is turning in favor of mainline flying. It will turn again some day, but for now it is the direction Delta is headed in.

After reading the first post I couldn't help but think why you are complaining about Delta dropping you. You should look into history a little bit before you complain about losing flying that was just awarded to you. ASA was flying out of ATL long before you guys came in, so I don't really feel bad you guys are losing that flying. The only ones that should be flying feed out of ATL for Delta should be ASA or Comair. This would be the same as CHQ complaining now that Continental is pulling their CRJ flying out of IAH, when XJT was Continental's baby and then someone else coming in and taking the feed. The same can be said for Eagle's feed for American.

Point is, you probably saw growth at PNCL with them picking up new flying and then your upgrade would be quick. Well, hate to brake it to you, but that came at the expense of guys at ASA. If you made the decision to chase a quick upgrade and a poor QOL regional than that is your problem. Sorry if this is coming off mean, but their are plenty of us at certain other regionals that held out for a good QOL job just to see the flying taken away. Talk to a Eagle, ASA, or even Mesaba pilot sometime and ask how they've been screwed by regionals coming in and taking their flying. Ever heard of recycling pilot jobs? Hopefully that will make yourself stop feeling so sorry about yourself

I agree. Always get mad seeing those 900's parked at ATL when we could be flying them ( ASA )

to the last 3 immature posts....show me a pilot group that hasn't taken over some route from another airline.....pilot group, not airline management.....Is UPS evil for flying out of MEM? What does NWA do to Midwest out of MKE and ATA out of Indy? How dare AA and DL both have DFW hubs, those pilots are stealing each other's routes....you 3 are the poster children for management whipsaw.

tpersuit didn't mention anything about his company's move into SLC with DAL. The juvenile "rules" he spews only apply to others, it seems.
