It HASN'T worked for Mesa. And injunction only blocks them from canceling the contract until a judge can decide. Delta didn't schedule any 50 seat flying for July, so the pilots will be sitting home with nothing to do. Delta is paying them to park the planes, while saving money on the fuel costs and mishandled bags or passengers or any other cost associated with running an airline. I don't call that a win for Mesa.
I'm sure Delta's bean counters and lawyers wouldn't just go and cancel a contract if they didn't think they'd get away with it.
Lock 'er up.

heres a really funny little tid bit. asa's ceo sent out a memo to management saying and i quote "There has been a lot of speculation about our contract with delta in light of the cancellation of pinnacle's and freedoms delta contract. Our contract is written differently so we are not under the same on time scrutiny that these carriers are." hahahaha. that cracks me up. asa's numbers are way worse than pinnacles, and we have only been there 7 months. no wonder he sent out that memo. and my buddy once again sent me the ontime numbers. here they are IN ORDER
1. express jet
2. Pinnacle
3. CHQ
4. Skywest
5. Shuttle America
6. ASA
7. Freedom
i think that most of you are right. delta saw a way to get rid of a contract and we were an easy target.
here is what i think is really going on. like pinnaclefo said our performance on the nwa side is great. FAR from being able to be cancelled LEGALLY, and currently between nwa's 3 regionals we are number 1 for completion and ontime performance right now (hence our kool-aid drinking pizza party yesturday). we signed a cheaper contract with NWA so they would let us fly for other airlines. I think delta realized in a post merger world that pinnacle would be cheaper to them coming from the nwa side instead of building up their delta flying. this is delta's way still getting us to fly for them but at a cheaper rate, AND part of uncle phils scare tactics to get us to sign a concessionary or at the least less than average contract.
here is something very similar from mesabas bad times... straight out of the play book.

oh and here is another tid bit.
delta's ceo Richard Anderson was on CNBC this morning. Speaking live on TV from Memphis, and they asked him about cutting pinnacle airlines. he said "To put the Delta Emblem on the side of your aircraft, we hold these carriers to a high standard, we are still in discussion with Pinnacle"
i think this will all be worked out.

First off...i wish all pilots luck with their battle with delta.
Secondly, here is another "little funny tid bit" about ur post. Its not completly accurate. Copy and pasted from MYASA email box to here:
"Some of you may already be aware of the news that broke today about Delta’s intention to cancel its
contract with Pinnacle Airlines effective July 31. Pinnacle currently operates nine CRJ900 aircraft within the Delta Connection portfolio, with seven more on order from Bombardier. The press release that Pinnacle issued today highlights poor on-time performance levels as the reason Delta gave for cancelling the contract. Obviously, Pinnacle is planning action to retain its contract, but this move by Delta further emphasizes the need for us to stay on top of our performance and continue building on the foundation you’ve strengthened since last fall. While our contract with Delta is different than Pinnacle’s and Mesa’s, it’s more critical than ever that we show Delta our commitment to customer service excellence in a cost-effective way. We’ve just come off of two consecutive months of beating both our on-time and completion factor goals, and we are currently ahead of both goals so far in June. We are set up to have our best June in years!"
A little bit different attitude then what you are claiming. Anyone at asa will tell you that Brad has done alot since December to do anything he can to improve this airline, and it is showing. Keep in mind...regardless of what anyone says, ASA is delta's biggest connection carrier...and that in itself involves a "different" contract then pinnacle. However, i emphasize that that does not make us immune to anything, as this email i think points out.
Also, im not sure what your performance list relates to (Month to date, yesterday, A14, A0?) but here are some of the number for June Month to Date:
Completion Factor:
1. XE
2.OO
3.EV
4.9E
5.RP
6.DL
7.S5
8.F8
9.OH
A0:
1.00
2.XE
3.RP
4.EV
5.S5
6.9E
7.DL
8.F8
9.OH
A14:
1.00
2.XE
3. 9E
4. RP
5. EV
6.S5
7.DL
8.OH
9.F8
So i think this also shows that we are not "way worse" than pinnacles numbers. 9E's numbers this month are not bad at all. I dont know how to pull up past months numbers, so i cant comment on those.
No need to bash other respectable airlines. Good luck to everyone in the months ahead.

i was not bashing asa, like i said a good friend of mine is in management over there so i wish no ill will on the asa guys. i guess i was just posting on here what my friend and i were kinda laughing about. he just thought it was funny how quick that email came out since he knows the performance numbers are always posted and people could see that EV is better than mesa, but above and below pinnacle for several months.
