heres a really funny little tid bit. asa's ceo sent out a memo to management saying and i quote "There has been a lot of speculation about our contract with delta in light of the cancellation of pinnacle's and freedoms delta contract. Our contract is written differently so we are not under the same on time scrutiny that these carriers are." hahahaha. that cracks me up. asa's numbers are way worse than pinnacles, and we have only been there 7 months. no wonder he sent out that memo. and my buddy once again sent me the ontime numbers. here they are IN ORDER

While our contract with Delta is different than Pinnacle’s and Mesa’s, it’s more critical than ever that we show Delta our commitment to customer service excellence in a cost-effective way. We’ve just come off of two consecutive months of beating both our on-time and completion factor goals, and we are currently ahead of both goals so far in June."
Slightly different than your version. Also what if the contracts were dramatically different and ASA's on time perf requirements were different? Are you the almighty contract holder and know exactly what it says?, Just curious because I fly for them and I have no clue. And another thing about on-time and completion factor #'s and ASA's comparison to any other carrier that operates out of ATL. How can you compare #'s when ASA operates ALL of there flying from ATL which is almost 1000 flights a day opposed to maybe 50-100 flights a day (im not actually sure what Pinnacle or any other DCI operates). There is a big difference when Deltas ground ops (since ASA has no ground ops in ATL) messes something up and causes a domino effect. I could fully understand if their contracts were written differently. FYI

MY FRIEND SAID AT THE OFFICE THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE WERE GETTING CONCERNED WITH THE CANCELLATION OF PINNACLES AND MESAS CONTRACT BECAUSE OF PERFORMANCE ISSUES. THEY GET THE NUMBERS REAL TIME IN THE OFFICE AND ALL OF THEM KNEW THAT THEY WERE BETTER THAN MESA BUT NOT ALWAYS BETTER THAN PINNACLE. SO THERE WERE PEOPLE IN THE OFFICE THINKING THEY WERE NEXT ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK. It HASN'T worked for Mesa. And injunction only blocks them from canceling the contract until a judge can decide. Delta didn't schedule any 50 seat flying for July, so the pilots will be sitting home with nothing to do. Delta is paying them to park the planes, while saving money on the fuel costs and mishandled bags or passengers or any other cost associated with running an airline. I don't call that a win for Mesa.
I'm sure Delta's bean counters and lawyers wouldn't just go and cancel a contract if they didn't think they'd get away with it.

My apologies for coming off harsh. However, before you speculate on the mindset of the ASA people just take a second and ask yourself "do I really know how it is over there and all of the facts?" To be perfectly honest with you ASA in comparison to most regionals seems to be quite comfortable with their position in the industry. With that being said, no one is worrying about being on the chopping block because of what anyone else is going through. Out of the close to 2000 pilots I haven't really heard one person express their concern about being next to go. We all know anything is possible. I have asked many of the captains I fly with what their take is on ASA's place when it comes to Delta pulling the plug and most guys are pretty confident because at ASA among all of the rookies there are still quite a few senior pilots that have been around for 25+ years and seen the really bad times. They base it on the ASA has never furloughed a pilot nor has the company ever reported a loss. Im sure all this comes across as the "my regional is better than yours!" Im just sort of clarifying and or correcting some of the speculation. In all seriousness does anyone know how many flights Pinnacle operated out of ATL?

It sucks yes, but we're regional airline pilots. As stated earlier in another forum by someone else, this is the name of the game. Be glad it's not the NW side that got canceled, you only lost what,,...9 airplanes?
You gotta roll with the punches, most likely this flying will be back at some other point in time in the future for you guys.

As some else pointed out here, Freedum has won an injuction to have there case heard. Now that being said, delta has pulled all flying off there 145's and all pilots will be on RESV for July and hence forth. Im sure delta has the same plans for 9E. After July 31st they will pull flying off of our aircraft and continue to pay until the court case is heard. Now this is just my 2 cents and I dont know for sure, but I would think they have the same plans for us at 9E.
I would also hope that the one brain that the ship of fools down in MEM share, would be looking for flying with other airlines, I would guess the only 2 would be either Us Air or United, because both have made it clear they would love to rid themselves of Mesa also.
We have a 16 plane contract with Delta, I would think after this latest mess that we will get awarded no further aircraft with Delta. Why start a CRJ900 program for 16 aircraft. We need to look elsewhere for growth.
