It sounds like theres a lot going for Piedmont. I am looking hard at applying with them. Any recommendations on material to study etc., things I can do to help prepare prior to the interview?

My background: USN pilot with 2300hrs in T-6/T-34/T-44 and P-3s. I'm currently on a non-flying tour and will have been for 3 years when April 1st rolls around (when I get out). I've seen on the Piedmont profile that they're preferring individuals to be in an active flying position, but is that a deal breaker in order to get an interview?

Get current and they'll interview you. Apparently we've hired quite a few mil pilots over the last few months

Up to a one month wait for sims at the moment. Huge backlog.

But i'm not complaining! I get paid more more than YV with a line and i get to watch college football every Saturday.

Be hand-flying instrument proficient when you get here. The guys/gals that wash-out, do so in the sims.

Apparently it's an instructor shortage, not sim space. Enjoy the time off!

I am ex mil at PDT; suggest if you don't have much civil time, starting reading and studying up Pt 91 and Pt 121; the Sheppard Air ATP Interview prep course is what you'll be tested on at the interview. Otherwise, chase down some of your buds who went airlines and network for interviews. Lastly, it was not uncommon during previous hiring surges for Mil pilots to get hired off of staff tours; given a decent Pt 121 knowledge base, the airline will teach you how to fly their eqt their own special way.
Good luck!
