Dude you missed the point!
I agree there are a plethora of highly qualified guys on the street furloughed right now, but I said nothing about upgrades or quick pic turbine time... the whole thread was about making your own decision. Further more you don't need turbine pic to go to a major buddy and I have plenty of examples I can give you to back that one up. So back to what I was saying its about making the best decision for you and not living someone's dream off of a thread that holds no weight. My mentor (a UPS MD-11 Capt) once said "If it's for you, then do it!" and that's all I'm passing on. |

Ummmmm.........WHAT? Besides Delta who is hiring at the major with no PIC time? Enlighten us BUDDY
If you checked the APC majors sections and looked at their hiring mins a few as recently as a few months ago, most accepted SIC time. This trend will continue, and worsen, since there will be very little movement at the regionals for some time... and when the time does come for majors to be hiring again, many regional Capt's will not be interested in walking away from 100k to go make 40 as an FO again and be on the bottom of the seniority list when more furloughs come. toss the coin |

Actually, he is correct. The majority of them were accepting, and hiring, without PIC time. The caveat was that at most of them, you had to have anywhere from twice to three times the SIC time then if you had the minimum PIC time. Rest assured, those with PIC time got hired first, but many were hired with SIC only time.

Does anyone know where I can find a list of bases for Mesa and its other partnered flying companies?
|
Look at APC for the list of bases. I think the junior base for the CRJ is DC and the junior base for the Dash is Grand Junction.

Why Mesa does not guarantee pay for cancelled flights? If your flight gets cancelled, you do not get paid as a pilot.
Why does Mesa pay historical block only? That means if the flight pays 2 hours and it ends up being a 5 hour flight because of a meltdown at JFK, you get paid 2 hours for 5 hours of work. We gave up cancellation pay, block or better and a myriad of other things when we got the Freedom Airlines A list pilots back on the MAG master seniority list. Roughly translated: We gave up everything to end the alter ego airline that was created by our management to fly -700's and -900's for -200 rates. The contract has been amendable since September. |

DEN is junior on the dash and PHX is senior. GJT falls in the middle, being senior for CA's (4 guys out of 7 have 10+ years seniority), and moderate for F/O's. New hires can get it, but expect to be on reserve for a while. |

Does the pilot group have the "everything" on their to-do list for this current round of contract negotiations? When would a strike be possible? I may go to work for Mesa or worse, but I ain't crossing a picket line. |
