Once again, I am almost embarrassed to work here. They called me a few months ago, because I had a pager that I never turned in 3 years ago and said that if I didn't return it that they were going to charge me 100.00 for it. In the contract is says the cost of a pager is around 45 or 50.00 or something like that.
I believe small claims court is anything over 300.00

Did you in fact really have the pager? Did you think you were supposed to keep it after you were done with it? Surely you didn't. On the surface, it sounds like you were trying to stick it to the company.
To the person who owed $300+ on the uniforms, did you think you weren't responsible either? Come on give me a break.
Because of that kind of mentality, the rest of us cannot payroll deduct any of our uniforms.
If you owe somebody money, they shouldn't have to come to you to get it.
Have you ever lent some money to a friend? If the friend didn't pay you back, after confronting the friend, would it **** you off if the friend said, "Well you never came to me to get it, so I figured you didn't want your money back that I borrowed"?

Left Comair 1.4 years ago and got a call from collections today that I owe $333 on my uniform. I never got a bill or anything and they confiscated my last check i thought for my uniform. Any one else get this from them who left there? They sent it right to collections?!?
I'm curious as to why you would be embarassed because the company wants the money that's owed to them, and they are apparently charging you interest on that money.

I know a lot of people want to stick it to the company, cause in their mind the company has stuck it to them, but that's a little ridiculous.
I'm curious if the guy who posted that will comment and tell us what his balance was before he left. Sure they should have taken more than $333 per pay check, but if they didn't, and he knows he owed more, then the right thing to do would be to contact someone and make it right, as opposed to saying, "wow I got away with one there".
It's like people doing their taxes every year. Some take outrageous deductions, then when they don't hear about it for a year, they figure they got away with it. All the sudden two years into it, they get audited by the IRS. The IRS disallows the deductions, then charges penalties and interest on the disallowed amount. These people then cry about having to pay penalties and interest, when they just got caught red handed.

I got that collections letter too. Seems like i owe some money from my uniform as well. I'm pretty sure they deducted the balance out of my last paycheck, but just to be sure i'm looking through my old shoeboxes full of old paystubs to cover my arse. 4 possibilities: 1. maybe i really do owe them money. doubtful. 2. payroll screwed up. hmmm. 3. someone went on a shopping spree on my behalf. 4. someone in payroll or the crew store is putting cash in their pockets and billing me. that place is so corrupt...
