hahahahaha there were probably only like 9 people on the flight anyways...
he should have told them on the ground that they were canceled b/c someone tried climbing in the plane by using the TAT probes...but that one was used already....

Not the smartest thing to do given that:
1. They WILL believe you
2. It may be pretty easy for a pilot to tell the difference on approach, but pax may just have a harder time
Even then, I wouldn't be too harsh on the guy. It's commendable that somebody can find time for humor with the industry in it's current state. Perhaps a chat with the chief would be in order, but noting permanent or severe.

i find i no longer get that fired up in these forums....i spend all day all week at the airport flying or getting owned in some way by the company...the last thing i wanna do is come home and bash on other people who do the same thing....
personally, if we all got together i think it'd be one helluva bbq...

Very poor taste. The passengers are already two hours late and I imagine most of them are connecting out of Cleveland. Even if he had let them off the hook in the air, I doubt any of them would have appreciated the humor. Fun and games has its place but try to keep in mind if we want to be treated like "major" airline pilots we ought to conduct ourselves like them. Know where to draw the line.
