Another TSA Memos
#1
One of our latest memos from our Chief Pilot told us if our passenger load manifest we receive from the gate differs from our FA's count not call the gate agent back to correct it, but to change it ourselves, because it would save time. Is this not a security issue?
Does anyone else think this is a big problem?

i would say so. it hasn't been long since i was a gate agent but crazy things happen with those computers. the gate agent should be able to verify who's count is accurate even if it means going through the aircraft with a hard copy list. but it's no longer my battle to fight.

Didn't a kid sneak through TSA and board a SWA flight recently?
Anyway, so now that the gate agent screwed up the count, you have to assume that they DIDN'T screw up and let an extra person on (or not scan a ticket)?

As PIC you should instruct you FA that you don't want to see the CS paperwork at all until it matches exactly. Never change it yourself...only asking for problems. The CS always throws the paperwork up to you and runs off ir pulls the jet bridge...instead have them talk to the FA and agree!!!

Right, because passengers don't get on the wrong plane and end up in CVG instead of BDL....wait a minute...
