Is Passport required for CASS verification or not. I have heard that TSA stopped requiring it some time ago, at the same time I have seen some gate agents require it.

It depends on the agent you run into. Bring it with you.

 

The two previous posts are both correct in my experience. You might be able to JS on company AC with just your badge. Maybe.

 

Also it has to do with the computer system that verifies you if the company has the one with the picture then the passport is not required. Bring it along anyway never know when you need to go through Canada to get home.

 

In my experience Southwest asks for it the most to verify the photo. Everywhere else is not as common

 

Yeah, Southwest is almost a guaranteed passport check. Delta too. Just bring it with you, I don't see what the big deal is.

 

The BIG deal is that in a highly standardized industry the sanctioning body, when it comes to "safety", TSA, has become the poster child of chaos and unaccountability.

This is unfortunate but not unchangeable and uncorrectable. Change can be brought by many ways, most of which begin by a simple question and effort in figuring out what we exactly have to deal with and ultimately correct. The attitude of "what's the big deal" has let us to where we are today. It began as a cause of protectionism now its just a matter of laziness and defeatist attitude, "it will never change".

I understand you or others might feel that way, "what's the big deal", and I agree that to some, including you, it might not be a big deal. However, others who want their work environment and condition to improve might feel that even the smallest inconsistencies are worth questioning and worthy of correction.

 

Well stated. It's because everyone has a "what's the big deal" attitude, pretty soon they'll be saying, "hey come on, it's just a rectal exam, what's the big deal?" We've got to question these things.
