Yeesh, I know a lot of you guys are wired to go into attack mode whenever the letters "RAH" are posted around here, but this one was immediately dismissed as good-natured bull$#it even on the company forum as soon as it was posted. I think subtle hints included the Gitmo overnight and the insistence that "This is Serious Guys!"

What, you think FI's the only place people can post misinformation just to watch the fun?

First off, as others has stated, good luck getting scheduled service into Cuba even from St. Thomas(St. Thomas and St. Croix are both U.S.)

Second, good luck with a "hublet" out of St. Thomas. Facility just isn't ready for that much activity. Forget about St. Croix.

I also may not know as much as the 145 drivers may know but when I was working the DCI 145(esp CHQ) weight restriction was a common problem. Anyone who lived down there(i did) knows just how crazy the weather can change in 10 mins.

Also, wouldn't that be directly compete with American seeing as though they are about a 20 min flight(mas o menos) away?

I got the BS card out but i'll give the benefit of the doubt. Crazier things has happened.

I can't wait for the 13 leg days. You thought CVG was bad in the 135, you ain't seen nothing yet! It'll make CVG - TOL look like a long haul.

In fact, I think a few of those cities mentioned are already served from ATL.

Following your logic, I know AA bypasses MIA with SJU to the Caribbean, but MIA doesn't have nearly the amount of feed that ATL does. That said, I could be wrong.
I think the feed would act just like any other regional feed. PAX all over the US would want to travel to these destinations. I'm sure they can find enough to fill 50 seats. Either way this hasn't even been a rumor till today so sweep it under the rug for now.

Is that a question or a statement? If it's a statement then I'd have to ask what routes would be taken from mainline. Some of those places are operating on strips under 5k feet.

Which is WHY it's a silly rumor. Even a full EMB 135 would have a hard time getting off a 6000 ft strip with a flaps 18 takeoff. It's not feasible for the ERJs. That's why AA runs T-Props down there. The ERJs would ALWAYS be weight restricted, they practically are now.

Pull what's left of the Dorknobs out of MYR and put them on it, that plane doesn't know what a weight restriction is .

Have you flown the ERJ? Take a look at Key West 4,801ft and I seem to remember an RJ operator going in there on a regular basis.

Static TO without a large fuel load is very doable.
