Each carrier has it's own W&B program. XE spent $$$ to do their own research resulting in lower average pax weights and lower average checked and gate checked weights. This allowed higher payloads.

You can't tell TD that. He's always right.
He knows it's not feasible to hop E135/E145s around the Islands, but he can't be wrong. They could probably get a 747 off an 7000ft strip with very little gas, but you don't see anybody punching 747s in and out of MDW. It's not feasible TD. What about aborted takeoffs, V1 cuts, and other abnormalities? It won't handle those well. Why don't you think about Comair in LEX TD? How they do? (God rest their souls.
RIP) It's not feasible TD. Give it up.

Why don't you just ask how I feel about trying to use my driveway while you're at it. Just as relevant. I'm putting this up there with your "It's not about the pay it's about he size of the aircraft". A few more and I'll be able to make a shirt.
PS the specs I listed earlier from Embraer included the part 91/121 fuel requirements of to the destination then your additional 45min. You can send them a letter letting them know they are full of it too.

Does that include climb gradient requirements? That's your kicker right there.

if they ran the operation how eagle runs it down there they would use flag fuel requirements. so you would only need fuel to fly to your destination an alternate if required and 10% of the total flight time. which on a 10 minute island to island hop doesnt mean a whole lot.

You can post all the numbers you want Duck. Do they take into accout higher temps, elevations, and weights? Posting those #'s is like Toyota telling you that a certain model will get 40 mpg, and then consumers average 34 mpg. Key West is ONE place. It's not island hopping. And Comair had a runway between 3500-4000 ft with 49 people on board and they couldn't clear the trees! That's no engine problems. Another 1500 ft wont do much If this service is so feasible, why hasn't it been done yet? 50 seat RJs are on the decline at DAL, so it's less likely they would be used. And another thing. I NEVER said an RJ COULDN'T use those airfields. I said it they couldn't do it without Weight Restrictions. It's not feasible.

Tell ya what Duck. When I see ERJs doing island hopping WITHOUT weight restrictions, then I'll believe it. Until then, you can't prove otherwise. Just because Embraer claims it can, doesnt mean it will. There's a big difference between an airplane fresh off the line with BRAND NEW engines, and one that's been in service for years. Just like any other machine, their performance DECREASES with use.
