you are right toilet but key west is flat. Dominica has a 6000 foot volcano 3 miles from the end of the runway making the one runway useless and also puts a consistent 10-15 knot tail wind on the 09 which points out to sea. Beef Island might be 4500 or so but there are also mountains surrounding it. You cant even line up on a straight in final till less than a mile out. Even STT has an intersting departure procedure due to terrain right on top of it (maintain 25 degree bank through the gap to a heading of 140 or something like that as i remember). Its not a good enviornment for the 145.

This is hilarious. As someone who has many hours the ERJ, and has flown the islands in the ATR, the thought of the ERJ going into places like Anguilla and Beef is absurd. I believe that they did a runway extension at both those places, but only by what, several hundred feet? This, on runways that were 3,500' and 3,600' respectively. Not to mention it will be HOT and HUMID, not good for performance numbers. As for the RJ in EYW, did the ERJ go there? I know the CRJ-700 did, but that airplane has slats, which makes a large difference.

No, he doesn't. The time he put in that airplane in BOTH seats at his former employer was just make believe .

I'm not here to argue each independent airport I've only been into a couple of the list mentioned. I have no idea about surrounding obstacles or runway grade. But the idea that an ERJ is incapable of getting in and out of areas with 5,000ft runways is inaccurate.

As far as EYW goes there have been ERJ-135s/145s, you mentioned CRJ-700 which I haven't seen, there have even been E-jets.

Anguilla is 5,462ft long.
Beef Island is 4,642ft.

Not absurd. ERJs meet the performance requirements for these two strips. I don't know about the rest that would require a little digging.

Considering the inaccuracy of this statement I had to ask. Feel free to back it.
Even a full EMB 135 would have a hard time getting off a 6000 ft strip with a flaps 18 takeoff.

Edited, good grief I got speling ishoos tunite.

You're right, I gaffed it. I meant to say he hasn't, instead of he doesn't.

But are you REALLY asking me to "back it" about the guy having never flown the ERJ?

You missed the boat. I was talking about the inaccuracy of his statement. Which is why I asked if he had flown the aircraft or was just thinking in general that a pax jet can't get in and out of there.

As always I wonder why you bother and what your point is.

I wasn't arguing his statement of whether or not the ERJ could go out of what field. Thats why I ONLY quoted the part where you asked if he EVER flew the ERJ.

Who missed the boat?

Well, the ERJs and the CRJ700s are EYW capable, but BOTH leave weight restricted on every flight. I have been there when the CRJ700 could only take 46 people due to performance.
