Default I love being treated like a child!

"As is the custom on holidays, please be aware that a Doctor's note validating any absences during the upcoming weekend to include Saturday, Sunday, Memorial Day and the day after will be required."

Pay us like a child, treat us like child, but expect us to be professionals...

Don't feel bad. I was legitimately sick with a head cold and called in sick for a trip (I was a line holder until the day I was furloughed) a week or two before I was getting furloughed.

Got a phone call from a Chief Pilot, who after hearing me talk goes: "Man, you sound awful. Hope you feel better." After about 10 seconds, he calls back and says he forgot to ask me for a Doctor's note.

That would be incredibly funny if you weren't serious!

Out of curiosity has anyone here actually seen repercussions from calling in sick without a note when they have sick time? Without any language in your contract or manuals I think taking it to grievance would result in your favor. Or next time you go to the doctor just white out or have the Dr. leave the date blank and reuse it.

I'm pretty sure that our contract has language saying that if the company demands you see a doctor that they have to pay for it. I'm sure the minute you brought that up they would say "Uhhh.. nevermind"

That is EXACTLY how it was at United. If they want a doctors note, they pay for it! One guy went as far as making an appointment with the Mayo clinic, when the company demanded a doctors note. They ran a battery of tests on him. Sent UA the bill for it, which cost somewhere close to $20,000. Needless to say, they immediately suspended this type of scare tactic!
