someone else posted this on another thread. This is what the reverend is asking of the F9 guys. This just goes to show how shady this whole thing is. He is telling them that they will Ignore the Republic pilots contract. SCOPE is important to all pilots and without it you have nothing but the potential to be completely outsouced (ala midwest) so when the reverend asks for "unlimited scope relief" that should send up HUGE RED FLAGS!!

This is directly from Frontier's Pilot Union:

"There are many terms and conditions within the Republic Plan that must be satisfied in return for this investment. Of interest to FAPA Members – the Republic Plan requires changes be made to our CBA including a 3 year extension (to March 2, 2015) of the amendable date and a change to Section 1.F allowing for “unlimited scope relief.” For all employees, the Frontier profit sharing plan will be replaced with a Republic profit sharing plan. Republic’s terms are initial “asks” and not changes that will be casually forced upon us. Republic has indicated that they plan to operate Frontier as a separate fenced off company and not merge seniority lists."

Well that doesn't make much sense if they will own Frontier as a subsidiary. The RAH scope says the pilots fly for all the subsidiaries. And they would be about half the cost of the Frontier pilots.

I'm all for Frontier being separate, although the toilet has already been flushed with this whole dirty deal. However, it looks like they will be going against their pilot scope.

Probably not an issue at this point, since RAH just owns shares (albiet a lot of them) in F9.

If they take over operational control of F9 (combine SOC's, merge pilot lists, etc) then a major partner could make a case about non-compete.

I'm 100% certain that BB is smart enough to not dump his gravy-train codeshares and go Indy on us.

It will be interesting to see how the scope issue works, since both F9 and RAH have scope. This might be the first application of that new federal law which requires equitable mergers.

It's worth noting that the law specifies alleghany-mohawk procedures, but makes no provision to recognize the inherent superiority of mainline pilots. F9 might get "equitably" force-integrated into RAH. F9 FO's might lose their ability to bid F9 captain, they might have to go back to an RJ. Gonna be some interesting negotiations here...
Its really sad, but we all know that majority of the RAH guys are happy about this. This will never happen. Frontier pilots will have this place shut down before our most junior FO ever sets place in a freaking RJ.

Well if your company wants to survive BK it looks like you will be forced to accept RAHs terms which includes "unlimited scope relief" We all know what that means. A slow and painful death of the current Frontier pilots. It's damned if you do, damned if you don't, I'm sure RAH would be more than happy to replace you guys if you don't comply. Pretty sad.

RAH sucks more than Mesa at this point. I hope RAH pilots wake up and see what their managment is doing to the majors. If I were in their shoes I would not step foot in the E-190 at Midwest or even fly a Frontier flight. Those are major jobs gone to undercutting. This is just BS.

Bedford knows what he is doing.
I started with CHQ in 2002, then went to republic later on and have since left the Pax Airline biz. In 2002 you could see that Bedford figured out he could make a whole lot more money making his little airline a big one than to go to a major and work in their managment. He is hedging his bets every time he throws money a struggling airline. In every case he will win. With airways it was gate space, with Midwest it was infastructure, with Frontier it is airplanes. If the airline pulls out of it's economic troubles, Bedford comes of as the guy who was there to help. So you owe him routes. If your airline goes under he has got first dibs on your equipment. Just think, If every company Bedford has his teeth in failed, one by one, how big would republic be? The market currently sucks but my money is on Republic being a big fish in the next 5 years. Yes, it will bring down salaries as a whole. However, Bedford nor the flying public care. Most of my FO's didn't care either, be it parents or a reitirement from the Mil or previous job or well to do spouse, made working for next to nothing posible. My question to other pilots at large RJ flying regionals and myself was, if I am now flying a Mainline aircraft on Mainline routes, Will there be a Mainline airline to go to once "I have done my time?"

In the end the flying public will be happy so long as they can continue to by cheap tickets, and subsidized pilots will continue to work for little or no money so long as they can point to a big shiny new aircraft and say "that's what I fly."

And Bedford knows that.

Being that we would own 100% of frontier, Im suprised no one has commented on what would happen to the Lynx guys, They'll be right out the door and their Q's will be replaced by our 170's. It's good for RAH cause that means more flying and possibly recalling more guys. But on the other hand we will be kicking other guys from another company to the street, unless someone buys their Q's and saves jobs. I don't know where this whole plan of action of buying frontier is going to take us, or the whole airline industry. I don't know if anyone does. Is it going to be one seniority list, or are the frontier guys going to have a seperate one? Like it was said earlier in this post, could this be a conflict of interest to other legacy carriers we fly under, since we will be in direct competition? Especially with United out of Den. Or will it be different cause RAH is a Holdings company and Republic, Shuttle, and CHQ are looked as just subsidaries by the legacy carriers? This is interesting to say the least. Will this be a benefit? Or is this just a receipe for disaster? I'm nervous to say the least.

An answer to several of your questions, RLH. It is a recipe for disater. The gutting of lives and the profession as a whole. The precedent that is being set by that holding company is disgusting to say the least. For a few maybe good, as for the rest of us it is so so sad.

He is going to keep the companies seperate which is a violation, then he is going to get pay rates established at Republic for Airbus and slowly disolve Frontier just like Midwest. Does anyone else feel absolutly hopeless that we will ever be able to advance our careers?

Yeah, pretty sure the E170 and the Q400 are different airplanes with different benefits serving different markets.

Good luck doing ASE in the jungle bus...
