The last two classes were in November 2007.

Sometimes I have to shake my head at the absurdity of the comments I read on APC. Sallie mae hasnt done loans for 18 months.

FWIW the reason was a bust somewhere in their intial ratings, and GTA has a zero tolerance policy in effect. Oh and IMO this is in direct response to pressure from the FAA, and I understand that ATP has now adopted a policy of if you fail at two 141 events (which I believe included stage checks, although I cant find confirmation) while in their Career Pilot program, they will boot you out also. Now if flight schools are adopting these policies I have to wonder what the regionals are going to be doing in the future with the new scrutiny by the FAA about Pria and disclosure of failures on checkrides in the past. How many of you forgot to list something? You guys think it cant happen, its already started...

I find it funny how everyone is "fixing the problem" by raising mins and stopping the PFT programs. Besides, why not? There's a huge stack of well qualified resumes at every recruiters office.

Now when this alleged upswing occurs and they're desperate for warm bodies, we'll see how long we hold the bar up. Age 70 and multi-crew licenses anyone?

ATP is part 61, except for one location.

I know their new contract suposedly says that 2 failures of training events is reason for discharge, so I guess that could be applied to either 61 or 141 training. Im simply stating that two schools that are big players in the industry seem to be really tightening standards of entrance to training under scrutiny of the FAA. Where any of this goes from here is anyones guess...
