"but isnt their Career Pilot ( zero-hero) program done under 141?"

No, ATP has historically been a part 61 school. They got one location approved for 141 with the FAA to attract VA students. The rest is 61. The link pretty much spells it out...

Ok, thanks for the clarification, I was told they were a 141 approved school by a friend that was looking at them for VA bennies a while back, which led me to believe they had an approved 141 curicula at all campuses. I never looked at them because I was fully immerssed at a Mom and Pop FBO

My mistake... so you're saying that they are only paying $29k of their (read: daddy's) own money to buy their airplane rides? That makes it all better...

Im not going to waste my breath reiterating anything here. You have no idea what you are talking about. Like many you are just repeating what you have heard, and have obviously never developed an opinion based on facts, or of your own...luckily thats not my concern

Have you ever been negatively impacted at your job by someone who participated in PFT/PFJ? I would guess not, since you're a PFJer yourself. Until you have, you really don't have much room to talk.

Real FOs are on the street because people choose to pay gulfstream $29k to sit in their seats. Let's not forget that.

Listen this is what I mean by not having all your facts. The CBA with GIA allows 30% only of line hours to be flown by Probationary Pilots. If they were not there you would see mabye 15 jobs open up. Ok great but those go to former students or in the current climate, the furloughs get recalled. Never give me the holier than thow Im a CFI your stealing my job pitch, it doesnt work with me, I am one of the 3M furloughs. Youll learn a lot when youve sat on a 121 flight deck...

That would be 15 more pilots who are being paid to use their commercial certs. For the record, they aren't stealing my job... I have a job (meaning I get paid for using my pilot certificates, in case there was any confusion about the definition of the word "job").

If anything... they are stealing your job since you are furloughed. Food for thought...

Again, I guess I could feel that way, but I flew for the Proby side, then recieved permanent hire, flew some and got furloughed, and I will get back to that side when my number comes up. I guess I see it diferantly, Its two different jobs in my mind, so not an issue, but that doesnt mean I'm not chompin at the bit to get back to work. Now if they were using Probationary pilots to fly more than the allowed 30%, you bet that would be a differant story, with all the perm guys. And just to clarify I have been paid to use mine since the day I hit IOE.
