Wait--I've been sleeping a normal amount and avoiding these boards for the last week-ish...didn't ASA/Skywest already get that UAL flying? I didn't think there was (much) more from any RFP to dole out...

Im sure AWAC knows if they got it already or not....MGMT is just playing with us....my guess??? If we did get the flying and we shoot down the 16% pay cut....MGMT will say OK but you need to take on PBS

SKW loaned UAL money and retained their CURRENT flying. ASA was given 13 A/C, but there's doubt as to whether that was part of the RFP or not. Even if it was, there was still 40 A/C or so worth of flying left to award.

The race to the bottom should have stopped long ago. But here we are.

Since it appears Xjet was awarded the contract, I find it amusing that AWAC management wanted pilots to take a 16% pay cut to be competetive, especially since Xjet's contract is VERY similar to AWAC's contract. It would certainly seem that AWAC management was trying to loosen the pilots pockets to benifit themselves.

There's really no surprise there. Coupled with that, as somebody mentioned earlier, will be the push for PBS which will inevitably fail...or so I hope.
