Or the flying isn't ours and they thought the could get lucky anyway.

This resulted in the transition to US Airways while AWAC management kept in place the concessionary contract that was only to be in effect if the United flying was secure.

It warms my heart to see the pilot group still at AWAC is willing to hold the line.

Yeah, I know. I was at ACA during the UAL BK. We had to go through the same crap. With different end results.

Don't forget who the flying really belongs to and where it should be. The only way to reduce the whipsaw is to reduce the scope. To do this regionals must get more expensive. We need growth at mainline not at the regional level.

I'm sorry you had to go through that. I was always happy to see an Independance lanyard with an AWAC id, it meant I didn't have to babysit or instruct.

Yep, that did happen. UAL told us they didn't need our services anymore, so we set up the return of all the 146's to the leasing companies. Then UAL realised they didn't have anyone that had an aircraft that could haul 100 people up a mountain with all their ski gear. They asked to keep flying 6 146's but by then it was too late. UAL being the fair w@nkers that they are, decided to pull our non rev benefits with less than 24 hours notice. We had people stranded all over the world.

The fact that AWAC pilots still have a spine is good news and should be held up as an example. The line has to be drawn somewhere and I'm glad your group is still refusing to sell out.

For what it's worth I hope AWAC gets the flying.

If AWAC gets back into bed with UAL, they're absolutely insane!! UAL has screwed over AWAC so many times over the years. Good for your MEC! Let UAL reap what they sew!

Which regional hasn't been screwed over by their mainline overlord?
