Longest CRJ-200 flights
#13
I did a repo flight once from DEN-IAD. It was about 3 hours in the air.
Our longest scheduled flight at my carrier on the CRJ-200 is PHL-MCI and yeah, it's painful. And it's always full. I feel bad for the passengers.
Pushing Max Gross TOW on that one - 52,xxx+ lbs always. Full flex and you're looking at a LOOOOOOOOONG takeoff roll.

The longest non-repo 200 flight I flew regularly was PHX-DSM (1000 nm) at 2.3 to 3.3 hours depending on the winds and one at 3.9 (probably some long wx delay or maintenance thing, I can't remember).
It's not a 200 but at one time Mesa was flying a CRJ-700 IAD-AUS (1127 nm) and then AUS-SFO (1307 nm) for United Express. These two legs were scheduled for 7:58 hrs of flight or something silly like that. The two legs regularly blocked at almost nine hours with the departure delays out of IAD and the holding going into SFO. Many of the passengers were through passengers. Ouch! And some even had connecting international flights. Wow!
They eventually started switching crews in AUS when it was obvious that 7:58 would not cover it. I think they may still do the IAD-AUS leg.
They also had an RDU-DEN (1248 nm) that could get pretty heavy with alternate fuel.
How about the guys that flew the 200's over to China and back. I think they may have the record unless the repo to Hawaii is a longer leg.
