I sat j/s in a 200 from MSP-RIC and I think they blocked about 2.5 hours. It wasn't the most comfortable but I was happy to get there!

I just used google to come up with the figure. Typed in "what is the distance between X and Y"

Too freaking long to be in an "RJ"

I feel your pain. Had to ride in the j/s in a CRJ2 from FLL-CVG once (932 mi). Fully loaded, in the middle of summer, dodging t-storms. Loooooong......

I have done the MSP-HPN, it is not fun. I had a MSP-CLE that was long because it had a taxi out, sit for 45 min get re routed 3 times, taxi back in for more fuel, taxi out, the new route took us west then down to DSM then somewhere in Missouri, almost to Arkansas then back up to CLE. I am also pretty sure they had the ALTERNATE ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS which we had to spend 20 mins explaining to them why that will not work. Of course as soon as we took off our original route cleared up but they kept us on the reroute.

I agree with your post, I truly do. Alot of RJ dispatchers are as dumb as poeple in call centres who really don't know jack. I actually really enjoy it when a pilot would question me because it shows him I did my homework and I am making an educated decision. You get one thing out of doing that, respect from the Pilots. Pilots are just like truck drivers, you're only out for yourself. That's the way it was at my old company anyways. But the point I really, really hate seeing is this the one bolded above. If you really feel that the pilot needs to be in full command of a flight, then start a 135 ticket or go fly for one. There are enough pilots who think they can do everything without the help of dispatch, we don't need anymore.
