I am sure that separate pay scales are part of the negotiations, it would only make sense. A scale that was originally meant as a blended rate between Beech and Saab is now being used between Saab and Q. That's not good.

The policy at the start of the new year is for pay protection on all cancellations. Of course, this can change up until a contract is in place, at which point I would hope that none of us would vote for a contract without this in place. Maintenance cancellations most certainly should not take away from a pilot's paycheck.

And Spoilers, we get it. You don't like Colgan. You sound like someone I wouldn't want to work with anyway.

Cause I am sure the company you are furloughed from was so great that they had to furlough their pilots. At least at Colgan we can say we have never furloughed and have grown when most others are failing. I would never trade steady employment for a few dollars in pay and an extra day off. But hey what do I know, I have a job. Enjoy your furlough.

No need to wonder why pay and QOL is so low. Colgan will have thoose slots filled in a few weeks.

Again, anyone know if there is new flying at Colgan? Why are they hiring? I heard a rumor that they did which would result in a new base and I am trying to confirm it as more than a friend of a friend said it.

Delivery of 15 Q's this year, hiring for the new airplanes/pilots moving from the Saab to the Q. Sounds like new hires will likely go to the Saab to start.

First, I make more on unemployment than you make working at Colgan.

In fact, I would still collect an extra couple hundred dollars a week, from unemployment, if I went to Colgan.

Second, Colgan hasn't furloughed because their costs are insanely low compared to other regionals. You have your "cushy" job at Colgan because you cost a lot less than other pilots.

It doesn't say much when your first year pilots qualify for food stamps.

If you have any hope for a better contract you better hope people don't apply to Colgan and they have to raise your pay because no one wants to go there.

The reason I got furloughed was because of reduction in flying and routes being handed to other regionals with bigger aircraft and a lower cost pilot group (like Colgan). Why do you think Colgan is growing or hasn't furloughed? Because you are replacing mainline flying and undercutting other regionals with cheaper labor!! Congrast on having a job, you must be so happy. I am enjoying my furlough, because I can sit at home knowing that I make more money in unemployment than you flying around in your 70 some seat turboprop.

Have you given more than 5 seconds of thought as to why Colgan hires while others furlough? Maybe if there were less DCH Pilot's in the world taking jobs at undercutting wages, others wouldn't be on unemployment (making more than DCH Pilot). Now call your Union rep and ask him why your post sucks if you still don't get it. S.J.S. post of 2010 so far.
