Default ASA CRJ-700 Rumor?

Hey all!

I have no solid source for this.. just throwing it out there to see if anyone has heard the same thing.. I've just heard some talking about ASA buying more CRJ 700's.. Anyone else hear the same thing? Like I said.. Just stuff I heard people talking about..

Hope everyone had a good New Year!

As someone who was furloughed for over 4 years, can I give you some advice? If you are furloughed as your avatar says, don't chase down or hang on any rumors. It will only serve to make you miserable and make the furlough seem to drag on even longer.

However, YMMV.

i dont work for ASA but i can tell you how this rumor started because its the same rumor that probably happens at every regional. Your company has just announced more block hours for the 700 this summer if i am not mistaken. So someone probably took that and said hmmm, I wonder if that means we are getting more 700's? Then it spread like a virus throughout your airline.

That seems very logical.

All other possibilities, like ASA getting them from Mesa somehow seem very very unlikely at the present time. Stranger things have happened though. Maybe CRJ-700s could be part of that Vietnam thing? (How long before that statement pops up as it's own rumor )

Here's a question:

If ASA converts all 700's to first class cabins (which is apparently happening) and makes them 66 seats does that open up room for more 700's in the DCI system?
