Looks like a big global! What a joke. Same engines as the 900, same max speed. Crummy range and only at .78? Good luck getting that into small to medium airstrips... IE KSNA, SBA, SLO, yadda yadda. No way your taking reserve plus full pax plus ISA +10 in summer and getting off the ground. WHY EVEN MAKE A 1000??? All that for just a few extra pax? OOOOOOOOOkay.

OH I forgot....Ornstein will buy them. He's dumb enough.

Because Bombardier believes there is a global market for such an aircraft...just just 'small to medium airstrips' in the United States.

Considering the CRJ-1000 has the best fuel efficiency of any aircraft in the 100-seat class, they're probably right.

Can you imagine 100 people standing in the jetbridge waiting for the rampers to unload and bring 100 gate checked bags up the stairway!!!

They should have left it as an 8 seat business jet.

Holy crap, I never thought of that... That would be a disaster in DTW, 100 pax waiting for their planeside checked bags, while 2 rampers unload them.

That would be disastrous!

I actually went out of DTW on a XJ CRJ900 just a few days ago, & apparently DAL no longer gate checks bags on the CRJ 700/900 flights. Only the CRJ 100/200 flights. I'm glad they made the change. It makes things less confusing. Plane side claim is now only available for 50 seaters. Every other flight will be plane side checked for baggage claim pick up.

Scared the crap out of me...let's hope it never happens...

Nothing wrong with CRJ-1000's in the future as they will be flown by main line pilots if Delta buys them.

They gate check mine every week when I fly to SFO along with the other 75 pax. Could it just be a local thing?
It's usually on the 900 but sometimes the 700

Not sure, but I've heard of it happening in IAH too. There were 3 commuting crew members and they gate checked those for plane side pick up, but only for the crew members. They would not hand out pink tags to passengers.

Delta owns the 900's and no main line pilot flying that, just real pilot's. Why do you think 1000's will be any different?
