No. We are doing Check Airman interviews at all bases. Just did my interview today for MEM spot. 22 applicants for 2 spots in MEM. We are just refilling the check airman spots were others have quit or lost there status.

Nickel would be hiring now if it weren't for the open time *****s.

Him picking up that open time cost me MONEY! Long story.

Delta seems to be about 25% less efficient, 15% more likely to cancel flights or substitute equipment last minute, and, oh yeah, morale is down considerably in all departments after losing our travel benefits (getting parents back saves about $10 on a domestic flight vs. ZED High--before anyone gets all touchy feely about that go price a ticket and comapre it to a 9E or NWA flight back in the good ole days!).

I woulda said "they'll just displace out of ATL or realign the bases" a few months ago....but seeing the crazy, crazy way Delta runs things makes me wonder if that would even help (no way to plan where the block will go up or down month-to-month)...

Hiring @$21/hour versus displacing/realigning might be wiser considering all that...I'm no bean counter, so I dunno...
