I am american. What had happened with me was I lost my train of thought for a few minutes during my first post. This career sucks and we are screwed. Regionals suck, the pay rates suck in the regionals, and being a senior line holder at the regionals sucks. If you happen to get out of the regionals to the majors you will get furloughed at the major no matter what that major is, and it will suck. Line holding positions at the majors also suck.

If you can find one bright side to the career you are a ***** that is "a fine example of what is wrong with the industry" and may perhaps scab in the future.

You have to answer the question. Would you rather be building time at the regionals or as a CFI?

My post was a bit of an over exaggeration. I will admit it. It is a case of the grass is always greener on the other side thing. However, to answer your question honestly, I'd rather be a CFI. I am not building time, I do not need time. It depends on the company but do not plan on building time at the regionals when you are on reserve. I will probably be leaving the industry for a while, I do not expect things to pick up anytime soon. There are still a tough few years left in my estimation.

I was at XJT 16 months, 14 of them reserve... never held a line or broke gaurentee. Getting recalled and plan to be back on reserve for another 14.

Almost 7 years now. ACA/independence air (2001-2005) and Expressjet (2005-current). Enjoyed a being a line holder for some of 2005 and 2006. At least the last few years RSV has been in the left seat.
