Republic is growing out of its regional roots while Eagle remains a feeder airline. Soon Republic may be codesharing with American on many domestic routes supplying both midsize airliners and their own feed.

Since the two airlines have different unions and since the Eagle pilots have shown so much pettiness about Chicago in their treatment of Chautauqua pilots, any merger will be by staple. Since the Eagle pilots have shown their true colors in how they treated the Chautauqua pilots and their own senior pilots, it would serve them right too.

Maybe Eagle is just giving you a taste of the future. Just like breaking in a virgin, you don't want to shove it all in at once.

Republic bought several airlines. If the price is right, they could easily buy Eagle too. Isn't it still up for sale?

You just proved you are no better than he is. The industry has been taken over by the Me Generation.

Actually, this is true. Several years ago Eagle ALPA grieved the contracting of both TSA and CHQ as AA feeders since it violated our scope clause. The ruling was no violation took place since ALPA's scope clause was between the Eagle pilots and American Eagle Airlines whereas the TSA and CHQ contracts were between them and AA.

Actually, mainline recapturing small jet flying from a regional without mainline pay would be considered good news, in my opinion.
