And make sure you can use proper spelling and grammar when you are calling other people stupid.

Trust me you are better off staying at the flight school for a little while longer than going to Colgan.

$20,000 a year with no work rules and little to no benefits.... ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!! This job is SCREAMING for every person that has ever failed a checkride to apply. Anybody with a brain has vacated the premises of the Colgan interviews. They will be serving these applicants coffee as they head out to do their Norfolk turns for days on end out of ewr. They will be making more money, with a retirement match, and be sleeping in their bed every night... believe it.

How many hours did you have when you got your first 121 job, you who stare down your nose at all of us "stupid" people that worked at flight schools for over 7 years and are totally sick of it? I probably supervised your first solo. Let me guess - about 328 total time with 15 multi? Now are you bitter because you got furloughed with low time and since you have no PIC time you can't upgrade for several years?

If you've been working at flight schools for the last 7 years, how is it you missed the big hiring boom?

As for the second part, be careful who you "stare down your nose at" just as you note he has no idea what it is to be in your shoes, you have no idea what it is to be in his.

For the record I enjoyed flight instructing, I'm not sure my two furloughs have really beat having a full time instructing job where I made more money, my own schedule and was home every night. It's hard to understand that though when you haven't done both, big fast airplanes call to pilots...

How is this not flame? Statements against management are one thing, but this was meant to insult an entire pilot group.

Mod note.

This thread is getting off track with the personal attacks starting to go each way. This will cause the thread to be shut down. Everyone stop looking down their noses at everyone else. We do not need to rehash the same arguments that we had for three threads in a row not to long ago starting with the Colgan Hiring threads.

Wife, kids, grad school - basically I never thought I could afford to go to the regionals. Actually, I did leave the industry for over two years, and would have had nine years in the industry. I'm just tired of being in management. I want to fly. The money in management isn't that great, and it's worthless if I never get to do anything I like to do and don't have enough money to fly anyway.
I have the flying bug, but only get to fly when someone needs an instructor checkout or a remedial stage check. I work on the business side, and I am tired of it. If I go to the airlines now, I can finish my master's degree while earning turbine time. When I am done with my master's, I can be an Aviation Safety consultant or stay on as a pilot...
