Does DFW have a displaced threshold?
Also- if you forget to set ypur altimeter, and dscend from 290 to 11000, how far off will it be and why?

Thanks fellas

This question is better suited in other forums on APC.

You're leaving out a lot of information.
1. Which RWY in DFW? Don't have my Airport Diagram avail.
2. What's the current alt. setting? Its approx 10 feet per .01in Hg. Above Transition altitude (typically 18,000 in the US) you switch your altimeter to standard 29.92in hg or 1013hpa(?)

These are questions that private pilots should be able to answer. Just have to know how to read an airport diagram and know how an altimeter works (along with rules for setting them).

how screwed am i going to be with the sim if i can't find a fresca sim around here to use, haven't flown a baron, and haven't flown with a G1000?? Best i can do is use my Microsoft Flight Sim and/or X plane to TRY to get some experience on the G1000!

An airplane is an airplane... they all fly the same... just some faster than others... don't overthink the interview its just a game!

Just shove the chevron into the flight director and you'll be fine.

Make sure there is no space at all between the command bar and the chevron. I had just a little space between them and I was off about a dot on the ILS. I ask the sim guy why and he said "you have to tuck the chevron up into the FD command bar. As far as power settings, just ask.

Upon entering a hold I had to do a teardrop. When it came time to turn inbound I knew I had to turn left but the command bars were telling me to turn right. I turned left anyway and realized I didn't change my course to the inbound course. I still had it on the reciprocal. I recognized my mistake and ask the sim guy to set my inbound course. He did (he seemed to give a sigh of relief) and everything went fine.

Are we being punk'd? Honestly you need to break out the books before you interview here.

You're first question can be answered by referencing the DFW airport diagram. The second question should come from your head.

Btw I don't mean to sound like a jerk. Those were just odd questions for someone getting ready to apply.

Frankly, if a potential applicant can't even form a coherent sentence... you have every reason to be a jerk.

This is supposed to be a professional forum, filled with professional pilots.

It's disgusting to me how many can't form coherent/grammatically correct posts, or god forbid RESEARCH THEIR POTENTIAL EMPLOYER EVEN A LITTLE BIT, but still want to be treated/compensated/respected the same way as doctors and lawyers?

I'm not talking about perfection here, but honestly how long does it take to proofread your *******? Would you send a cover letter into an employer that looked like that?

GRAMMAR NAZI RANT OVER
