Well if he don't get a jet then he have to wait one year...

Boo Hoo! Ask around and see how many of us were displaced out of base or equipment for over a year. I understand the guy wanting to be based where he lives but give it a break.

Hehehe I'm not going to ask, because I know a LOT of people that got that situation. I think his a little desperate to know (like we all did when new hired). He's 24 or 25, he'll be alright youngest guy today have 22.

He will make it.

Its not about being based at home, well it is, but I am not complaining about moving/commuting, I have a sick family member, so being based near home will make my life 10000000x easier. I honestly would have went with Colgan if Eagle did not have a NY base, it was my biggest deciding factor.

I am thinking about getting off this web board though, it is like night/day between here and JC. This is the land of the disgruntled.

I'm not trying to give you a hard time. For those of us that have been reading this board its just getting a little old that you end every sentence with I NEED NY. And we are not disgruntled, most of us like our job but you have to understand that there is a lot more to this job than being based where you want on the plane that you want right from the get go. If you are fortunate enough to get based in NY I wish you nothing but the best and I'll see you on the line.

I really think that you have to chill out a little bit Rickt86. We know you need it, and probably you will have it.

Just remember in Feb 14 you probably will be able to get NY or some jet and then transfer to NY, but...what if they suddenly change the number of the fleet or move some planes from base to base? If you are the junior there you'll be displaced.

Be relax you'll do fine, you have 14 days to do your bags, prepare yourself and get some rest before training starts.

As I told you before, spend some time with your gf, your family and prepare yourself for the training not here.

Again, you'll be fine, you have the average year and you'll see with the drop in total time you'll have to choose when it comes the time in that first day.

Anybody care to share what types of lines (1 day vs 8 days, high time vs low time lines, late vs early starts etc.) generally go senior vs junior at the various bases/equipment. I am specifically interested DFW EMJ or ATR but I am interested in other locations/equipment as well in case DFW isn't in the cards right away. I am assuming lots of people try to bid for weekends off? Also, how long are guys sitting on reserve right now?

My former company let us bid for any 3-4 days off a month and would schedule our "on-call" and trips (usually 7-27 day stints) around what days they awarded us off. That being said I am just curious how it is going to work with AE so I am hoping nobody crucifies me for asking these questions. I know things are going to work much differently. I'm just curious what to expect.

It has been 6 weeks since I received my pre-offer. I have not heard anything since. Does anyone know who is the best person to contact to check up on everything? Vicky? Nick? Thanks.
