Same here. Are there many early 20's guys in the recent classes? What were your options for aircraft and bases?
If you're 23 you might have a chance getting one of the jets. In my class I was one of the junior guys from 28 total. I had the opportunity to get ERJ ORD, but...only 3 jet remained at my time. Nothing bad with the ATR, I think is a great airplane and fun to fly. I just picked by base, no equipement. You should think the same, since first year pay is the same, then 2nd year you can change to the ERJ or CRJ. ;) |

Most likely below 23 years, you'll get ATR DFW or MIA or SJU. (this last class had 4 SJU).

Honestly, I'd rather fly a turboprop at some point. If I went to Eagle I'd move from Atlanta to Dallas regardless of what I initially got out of training, but would want something that is based there. (ATR or ERJ)

You are seat locked for only 1 year and can move to the jet after the first year. I've flown jets before and think it would be cool fly turboprops for a bit. I want DFW cause I live in SAN and plan on commuting. That's the closest base to the west coast that's not senior. |

Gotcha. Are you already in class or hired? I don't have the minimums yet, but it's coming fast. Just trying to prepare myself as best as possible. Yea, I think flying TPs would be pretty sweet! I'm living in Atlanta now, and I wouldn't mind staying, but living in base, at least at the beginning sounds really enticing. Dallas seems like a fun city so I'll probably just up and move for awhile. Oh e benefits of being single and 23.
Dallas itself has everything that any major city has, minus any sort of hills or natural water. The people are clinically retarded too (although that could be said for a very large majority of our Atlantan co-inhabitants). Dallas is much akin to Buckhead. As a sort of reference point for ya. G'luck! |

You do not want DFW if you are commuting. $15 a flight to get to work adds up. Go to ORD with the hope of getting to LA soon.
That's my plan. I want the ERJ, does the CRJ fly much out of LAX? I know that eagle is adding more gates at LAX and dumped a bunch of money into it. |
