24 one way passes a year, that are for 'bud passes' and parents. Parents travel at a priority code just above Bud pass. If you travel with your parents, they travel at same priority code as the employee to sum it up.

I believe my point was that with the TA or not, furloughs will be happening anyhow, So why a concessionary agreement?

I will tell you how this TA does, blind man, since you cannot read the proposal since you are a so called pilot at AE. The TA requires over 100 airplanes parked by 2016, that is a minimum 1000 pilots furloughed. Dont bother mentioning the furlough protection, I can not see AE carrying 1000 pilots extra on the payroll just to stay home. Even a new hire is not that stupid to believe.

But please exp[lain to us all how there will be no furloughing at AE with this TA?

you assume alot, you assume they park planes without replacing them, if they park them at all. The TA which I do not even support, but do have to argue on the note of common sense, does force aa to keep more jet with eagle over time, than not without out, so it may give up pay, but it would in theory slow the furloughing over time, hopefully being out paced by attrition.

those interpretations is based on hope, replacing aircraft and attrition. Fact is over 100 planes get parked with the TA or without. Minimum 1000 pilots effect. Spin as you like, the MEC has failed the pilots here miserably and they misrepresent facts. They even are complicit in the scenarios playing out that the company is orchestrating.

Everyone Else - Thanks for the thought out responses, as I was simply trying to get more information on the TA in order to make a more informed decision and in the process, maybe help others that are unsure as well. I apologize if my previous post wasn't the best thought out and implied that I was voting in any particular way. As previously stated, I am on the fence. I will not make any decisions until I see the final contract language.

I listen to the teleconferences frequently and think that they may be a little bias. I can already tell that I am going to get a much different perspective on here, which I consider a good thing.

Read for yourselves. The ones here trying to spin a positive are the ones who will be leaving here and passing there bill to those left. There are three categories of people for this TA who are lurking through the forums.
1. Management trolls.
2. Union trolls.
3. Sell out/scared trolls.

either way, they never bring facts to the table based on past AMR practices.

they bring maybes.

babs appropriate-you can wait til the moon glows green for all I care for the final language. That is what every union and management troll out on the forums says. read the link, you dont need much language to figure out what the proposal says. only if you are bought off can you be for this TA.

The MEC started roadshows but the only LEC that would allow them to come were the ORD reps who are management lackeys. All other bases have not allowed the MEC to show up at the bases to spin the TA.

If you are married or have a domestic partner, they get the same travel benefits as you - unlimited travel on AA/AE at "normal" priority and 4 one-way legs at a slightly higher priority (but still standby). You also get 20% discount on confirmed seats too if you REALLY need to get there.

Parents go at a slightly lower priority and get 24 one way passes/year. So the way I explained that to my parents, that's 6 trips/year for them to go together.

After 2 years, you get buddy passes which deduct from your 24 parent bank too. Buddy passes cost a little bit more and are lowest standby level.

If your parents are like mine, you'll have no buddy passes to give out. I started in August and my parents have used up almost all their passes. Thats only over the course of a few months. They don't know what they'll do next year when they have to spread the passes out over a full year, instead of a few months.

Oh and pass banks refill every Jan 1 and anything not used is NOT rolled over to the next year. Part of the reason my parents are traveling so much before the new year.

Well that's one good thing in working for Eagle, you can have your parents travel & see the world...... Chances are that very few can afford to take 6 trips per year......

Do you know if the parents, spouse & children travel bennies are restricted to Economy class or are they eligible for upgrade, also is it limited to domestic or can they fly International also.......

They are eligible for first. They need to follow the first class rules, and the tickets are more expensive.
