What are everyone's thoughts on this new TA? What aspects do you like? dislike? The feelings seem to be pretty mixed...

I personally am still on the fence, but feel as though a yes vote is necessary in order to secure the flying from being outsourced and prevent guys like me from being furloughed or moving backwards in seniority. I would prefer to not have to start over at another regional.

pilots like you is what makes the ALPA MEC at AE the way it is. people like you I have no regret if furloughed. you have no idea of what is being played out here. stick your face in the books and stay out of trouble would be by recommendation for you, but if you like to vote yes, fell free. It is still a free country for now, but remember one thing, a vote yes will furlough 50% pilots at AE between 2014 and 2016. So I would also recommend read every word of a TA and look for loop holes instead of the gravy, this way you will always be sure of your decision.

Curiosity how long have you been at eagle as a pilot?

buddies8 I get the not voting because of the loop holes and that we are being ripped off pay wise, but you still have yet to explain to me why this TA would fuel a loss of jobs at AE as opposed to not having the TA.

The TA locks us into a contract for 8 years..... right when the pilot shortage is supposed to happen giving us no way to negotiate better pay, work rules ect....
AA wants to reduce the 50 seat flying with or without the TA...There is no talk about new flying or new airplanes..

There is something fishy about the new seniorty pay scale.... People choose aircraft based on QOL around here... not because one pays more then the other.. We should be compensated for the sole called saving for the company..

2014 management can cut our pay...

If AA takes some of our planes ALPA gets money ...not the pilots

The pilots at AA have alot of leverage with managment....We will too so it would be stupid to take ourselves out of the equation...Luckly I havent met one pilot I have flown with that will vote for this TA..

I would never vote for something out of fear. Both the union leadership and management are not providing a full complete picture. I am a 90% no vote, just want to see the final language before becoming a 100% no. The pilot group is worth more than what our union leadership recognizes, and what our management is willing to admit. The vast majority of pilots that I speak to are no votes. Speaking with the DFW LEC FO rep yesterday, he provided logical argument against this TA. I have a lot of time invested with Eagle, and I do not believe we will lose any more flying than what the company has already decided to farm out. Eagle is still on track to hire 600 in 2012.
There are 7 ALPA regional carriers in contract negotiations, and Republic is also in negotiation. Realize there are other guys out there going through similar experience. We have an obligation to ourselves, families and our other "brothers" not fold under this minute pressure. Just my 2 cents.

This will be covered during INDOC, but your buddy passes will not happen for 2 years. Your parents get benefits on AA and AE, your significant other will also get travel benefits.

A smart guy like you should know that those on probation cannot vote, therefore making the following comment unecessary), but if you like to vote yes, fell free. Please do explain your theory on this.) So I would also recommend read every word of a TA and look for loop holes instead of the gravy, this way you will always be sure of your decision.

buddies8 - Thanks for the dbag response that provided absolutely no usefull information! Keep up the good work buddy.

Everyone Else - Thanks for the thought out responses, as I was simply trying to get more information on the TA in order to make a more informed decision and in the process, maybe help others that are unsure as well. I apologize if my previous post wasn't the best thought out and implied that I was voting in any particular way. As previously stated, I am on the fence. I will not make any decisions until I see the final contract language.

I listen to the teleconferences frequently and think that they may be a little bias. I can already tell that I am going to get a much different perspective on here, which I consider a good thing.
