what idiot pays for eaglelounge??? Thats like paying to have sun light.
You have 10 free web forums, who pays for one??
On a side note as a business, if I was AA, I would try and bust the entire AA contract, imagine you could somehow put all the AA planes at EAGLE, and have them flown by the Eagle pilots at 25% less than current rates, and have the FA/Ramp/Gate etc all Eagle employees. You could hire like it was 1975 at way less pay, and get rid of the grey hair!
No more mummy gate agents, and flight attendants with Alzheimer saying the planes going to crash.

There's a downside to that plan though First Officer Buffet and that's that Eagle's product is CRAP compared to AA's mainline competitors and most of the LCC's. Similar to Nicholson's character in the movies, "you can't handle that action". Imagine all those backpack toting, spike haired ipod punks in the cockpits of 777's or even 737's and bubble-headed kids at the gates bungling things on a much grander scale ?I nonrev on Eagle all the time and it's usually a mess. Having EAGLE become the domestic product for AMR (or One World) would be the best thing they could do for the competition. Sure, you could "Walmart" the airline, but AMR has stated they want the future AA to return to a premium product. It will be difficult enough considering where mainline has gone, but doing that with Eagle is trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ****hole.
Besides, didn't your company put out a letter very recently stating they were once again going to put out bids for AA feed ?
I've heard that since AA owns the planes and ALPA gave away Eagle pilots transfer rights, that they'll simply transfer those aircraft to another with a feed contract as the carrot and allow Eagle pilots to bid for those slots after that carriers F/O's take the captains spots, of course.

Geezeee, have we call everyone at AA, cranky old pilots without reflects? Did you remember when you where young?
Yes, Eagle is a mess and took the domestic flying because people of your generation where the ones that wanted to fly jets for pennies.
So let's not start with the **** of eagle this eagle that, when Eagle was the one that gave you the opportunity to be a airline pilot.
Eagle is not the best company of the world, but AA is pretty far from that.

Can you have a little more respect for the young people? You cannot generalize that everybody have punk hair and use backpacks and iPods going to work.

Look, AFAIC, Wingtips has become your spokesman and your rep here if you're an Eagle pilot (and now apparently if you're "young" like him). I don't see many of his fellow pilots criticizing the things he says or believes, so that must mean sympathetic acceptance. You're judged by the company you keep. If I was still at Eagle (or younger), I'd still be his nemesis because he represents the worst of the "new" Eagle (or the "young pilot") IMO. For the record, I still have many freinds there and most Eagle pilots are a class act and in a bad situation just like those at AA. Many of their newer, younger pilots seem sharp, as well.
The POINT of my post was to highlight an equal reverse and see the myopic reaction of the sympathetically silent. Of course, not ALL "young people" (or pilots) are like that, but with age comes wisdom (usually). Most of the other employees of mature carriers like UAL, DAL and SWA, etc. provide a far superior service then those at the regional level (AA's workforce is probably similar in age and maturity to the other legacies). Painful for some to accept, but true. AA's product has sagged badly, but that's not the fault of employees who've been excessively abused for over a decade (or age), it's a byproduct of that treatment. Cramped planes and no investment in entertainment hasn't helped either, but AA's product is still far superior to that on Eagle and when your spokesman sympathetically trumpets the idea of his regional hijacking mainline to become the new mainline and/or makes dergatory references to AA mainline employees as a group, you don't disagree. You then only voice disapproval not at what your spokesman advocates or his deragatory sweeping generalizations (AKA, "inflammatory comments") toward those older, but an equal, but opposite response that chaps your hide.
That's selective rationalization.
Wingtips is going to continue his M.O. of cheap pot shots, inflammatory comments and high-fiveism during this time of uncertainty in the AMR saga. That's what he does. So, relax and enjoy the ride. It's possible soon he may have little to be giddy about, but until then you should expect at least one person here to return his never ending B.S.

Any chance you two can give it a rest?
This is a pretty stressful time so why not try to be constructive. AMR is going to get additional regionals to provide lift. Eagle is either going to do whatever it takes or go the way of Comair.
AA also has it's hands full between holding the line on scope and watching out for the codeshare pitfalls.
I'm pretty far from carrying a backpack and I enjoy working with those very senior guys on the ATR in Miami.
So if the generalization crap could end I for one would appreciate it.

I doubt anyone can do a major take over right now of AE flying, most airlines are scared they cant fill their classes for ATTRITION ALONE.
Add in the flighttime/duty time, and new 1500 hour rules, and I doubt someone can go out and get 1000 pilots (dont forget the training bubble of the new flying).
Expressjet wants to hire 600 just to cover their current flying.
