Anyone else get that news for the 17th jan class?

I got the call today moving me also. Just got myself a 3 week vacation

I just talked to the CA that gave me a recommendation and he said that he got an earlier date than he expected for orientation at American. So apparently they did have more flow-throughs than anticipated. Strangely enough, he starts orientation the same day I'll be down there for an interview!

Pay...first day of training. (day 15 and the 30 or 31 whichever is last)

Travel benefits: first week on friday you get your jetnet pass and you active your trvel benefits (then 24 hrs later you can start using them)

How ofter were you at home your first year? Any tips on being home more often? About how many nights a month did you sleep in your own bed?

Also- How easy is it for your wife to travel around?

Thanks...

I was fortunate to get based where I live almost right away. That will make all the difference in QOL. Things are a little more relaxed on the ATR side, I'm usually only away from home around 6 or 7 nights a month. Around the holidays it's a little more than that. EMB guys in are very short staffed so on reserve you will be away more often. This is in DFW by the way so WARNING your experience may vary.

Your spouse, parents and children can travel as soon as you can, probably a week after you start training. However, girlfriend I don't think you can add until after 2 years of employment. There may be a loop hole though. You'll find out when you meet with HR and set it up.

can someone give me more insight into this. Someone told me you get one person you can add when your not married that gets the same travel benefit you do. What is the policy with this?

If you aren't married you can add 1 travel companion who can be anyone. That starts when you get your bennies.

I'm on the ATR in MIA for about 7 months now and they don't use us too much on reserve either. I've only been away from home about 4 to 5 nights a month. That will change now with around 15 FOs going to EMJ training in March. SHould be holding a line pretty soon. :)

This is true. The only negative is that your travel companion and parents share a max of i think 25 flights a year.
