I would strongly urge you to get it, you can do it online, google/this forum search will yield some good quick online directions to get it. It came in like 5 days for me.

No such thing as quick directions for getting that thing. The actual test for it is figuring out how to order it.

I'm on track for the 17th too, was hoping for NYC but looks like it will be mostly ORD/DFW/MIA.

If you are senior enough you can pick ORD CRJ and wait for the new vacancy bid and try to get LGA. ;)

Yeah, plus the less people who have the travel benifits, the better. Everybody and their mom has the same travel benifits including Eagle janitors. Its becomes a headache to go somewhere good with the little time we have off.

How often to vacancy bids come out? Considering applying to Eagle in hopes of being based out of ORD, and if I don't get it, how long do you usually sit at a different base until you can transfer in?

You can also transfer bases with another pilot via ALPA's MIDT program.

MUTUAL INTER-DOMICILE TRANSFERS (MIDT)

1. A mutual inter-domicile transfer (“MIDT”) request is defined as the reciprocal request of two (2) pilots to exchange domiciles.

2. The Company shall grant any MIDT request noticed to the Company’s Crew Resources Department by the Association effective the first day of the next contractual month (“Effective Month”) as long as the MIDT request meets all of the following conditions:

a. The two (2) pilots requesting the MIDT must currently hold the same position (Captain or First Officer) on the same equipment at different domiciles.

b. The two (2) pilots requesting the MIDT must be in an active pay status and may not be on a leave as described in Section 18.A through E at the time the Association submits the MIDT request to the Company.

c. The two (2) pilots requesting the MIDT must not hold a prospective bid to a different status (i.e., no “next status” on each pilot’s standing bid list).

d. The Association’s notice, as approved by the Eagle MEC Chairman or his/her designee, must be submitted to the Company within three (3) calendar days after the awarding of monthly vacancies. For a month in which there is no vacancy bid award, this notification will be provided to the Company by the fifth (5th) of the month preceding the Effective Month so that the trading pilots will have an opportunity to bid schedules in their new domiciles for the Effective Month. MIDT requests will not be processed during any month in which a vacancy bid is awarded on or after the tenth (10th) of the month.

3. Within five (5) days after receipt of the Association’s notice listing MIDT requests that conform to all of the conditions of Paragraph 2 above, the Company shall confirm in writing to the Association (“Confirming Notice”) the new status of each of the pilots requesting an MIDT and the effective date of the new status. Each pilot’s new status will be final and binding when the company provides the Confirming Notice.

4. Any MIDT request not noticed to the Company’s Crew Resources department in conformance with all of the conditions of Paragraph 2 above shall be considered null and void and no action will be required by the Company with request to such MIDT request.

5. The Association will process MIDT requests from pilots in accordance with procedures determined by the Association in its sole discretion and the Association may notice the Company each month of MIDT requests in its sole discretion. The Association may change, alter or amend (“revise”) the terms of the procedures at any time as long as the Association provides the revised procedures to the Company in writing thirty (30) days prior to implementation.

6. Each pilot’s transition to his monthly schedule for the Effective Month at his new domicile will be determined in accordance with the following:

a. Issuance of the Confirming Notice provided under Paragraph 3 above will be sufficient to authorize the affected pilots to bid monthly schedules in their new status.

b. The Company’s Crew Scheduling department and the two (2) pilots will attempt to effect the MIDT with no loss of flying to either pilot. Each pilot transferring to a new domicile pursuant to an MIDT will coordinate the transfer with Crew Scheduling. For each pilot, the transfer will occur within the first five (5) days of the Effective Month or earlier with the concurrence of the affected pilot. In no event may the Company remove a pilot from any more flying than is necessary to accomplish the MIDT.

c. A pilot may, but will not be required to, accept an assignment originating in his new domicile if the sign in time is less than twenty-four (24) hours from the time the pilot’s last trip sequence in his current domicile ends unless the Company provides positive space travel between domiciles.

7. A pilot who completes a transfer of domicile pursuant to this Paragraph is not entitled to move days, moving expenses or any other benefits under Sections 7 and 15.Q with respect to that transfer.
