Thanks...I've got a CCNA. Taking a break since I'll be at the Pentagon for the next 3 years. I won't have much time to take classes work should keep me busy...<grin>

I do plan on completing my CCIE in the future. My next academic goal is a MBA.

It's not predicting the future. Airline pilots have to retire at 60 (at least for now). Airlines have pilot senoirity lists with dates of birth. You can figure out how many will retire by a certain date. No crystal balls needed. I don't know about other airlines, but at mine 1/2 the pilots retire in the next 8-10 years. Everyone on property now will be a Captian. New hires right now can hold the junior CA position in 4 years. Sounds good to me. I'm 500 numbers from CA.

Right on man. Glad to hear the upgrade is imminent. Yeah, its not magic. I guess I went off a little because the stat is used to lure unsuspecting pilot wannabes into pilot mills. Anyway, yeah, there's always people retiring. That's why it doesn't mean much. People are retiring now, just like they will in the future. But hiring isn't going gangbusters now, and the age 60 rule could possibly change.

Otto is correct...there is some light at the end of the tunnel due to impending retirements at several of the majors. Legacy US Airways average pilot age is 55...

Regional Partner Adds 30 New Embraer 175s to Replace Existing Embraer 145s
TEMPE, Ariz., July 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- US Airways (NYSE: LCC) and regional airline partner Republic Airways Holdings (Nasdaq: RJET) today announced they are amending their existing partnership and adding 30, 86-seat Embraer 175 aircraft to the US Airways Express network. The new Embraer 175s will replace 20 existing 50-seat Embraer 145s operated for US Airways Express by Republic Airways Holdings' Chautauqua Airlines subsidiary. The remaining 10 deliveries can replace other retiring aircraft or be used for limited growth in 2008.

The aircraft will operate in a single coach-class configuration and will enter service beginning in 2007 at a delivery rate of one-to-two planes a month through the summer of 2008. Bla bla bla.. This is complete BuLL-$hit. It's nothing but complaints and it's as if you were expecting something better. This has nothing to do with the fact that people are trying to screw you, it's just that you have lost interest in flying. Don't blame Pinnacle or the aviation industry for your reason of quitting. And how the hell do you go from flying corporate to regional? You could have at least tried fractionals.
