Calm Down!!!!

Will everybody please calm down!!!! Let them negotiate and stop worrying about the deadlines. Latest mesaba email as of minutes ago says they are agreeing to things everyday, (including long call reserve!). Picketing is a useful tool WHEN USED AT THE RIGHT TIME!!! XJ and 9L weren't the only ones opposing the timing of the picketing, it was ALPA national, as well as delta and continental alpa too. Nobody will ever get a contract if you insult them while they are giving in on things to you!!! Wait until the joint negotiations fail to get any further, and stow the childish behavior or else nobody will ever get a contract. Remember 9E, this isn't just about you! Until we are out of joint negotiations, this about all three of us! Let's go negotiation team!!!!

Couldn't agree more. FO split rates agreed upon, industry leading retirement package, min day for everyone, min 11 days off, long call out reserve, strong scope language to prevent whipsaw.Training and testing section TA'd all these are already settled according to MEC. Progress is being made. I trust my negotiating team.:)

where do you people get this info from? Show me a quote FROM ALPA NATL that says they were not supporting this.

Does all guidance or advice have to come in the written form for you to believe? I also wonder why there was no mention of it in this weeks ALPA Fastread. Oh well, maybe next week

One thing you learn working for Pinnacle Corp...

never believe anything that they say until it happened yesterday.

So, really, if it's not written down somewhere, and our MEC didn't tell us ALPA opposed it, why would we believe some internet rumor?

Re: Min 11 day off for everyone....

Does anyone know if this means reserves will still be working for free one day per month every 31-day bid period????

For those at Mesaba not in the know, we currently use 30- and 31-day months throughout the year.

We're guaranteed 3.75 hours per day pro rata, or 75 hours per month. On a 30-day month, that equates to 20 days of reserve, 10 days off. 20 * 3.75 = 75....

31 day months, you have 21 days of reserve, 10 days off, and still get 75 hours of pay (even though PBS shows credit of 78.75 hours)... for those keeping calculations, 31 day months net reserves a pro rata amount of 3.57 hours of pay. HOWEVER, if you call in sick, you are then docked 3.75...

Food for thought guys.... are reserves going to get taken care of, or not?

I see where you're going with this but since '03 when I was hired at Mesaba I have NEVER had less days off than the minimum. When my new schedule comes out, one of the first things I do is check my days off.

The closest area we have in this area you describe is when the time changes (lose hour in Spring/gain hour in fall). So if I'm right and I am not certain I am, its a matter of 1 hour a year. Never been an issue of a whole day in a 31 day month.

I have to admit that that is a sneaky way to remove a day off your schedule.

But that's the thing.... they're not being sneaky at all... they guarantee 10 days off a month (to start with)... not 11... so, we were never entitled to 11 in a 31-day month. That's the Pinnacle way. I'm more upset that half the year reserves don't get paid the appropriate amount for the number of days worked, and yet if they call in sick, they're docked like they did get paid that way.

The worst part is... the grievance committee allows this to continue, since "precedence has been set".

And by the way, not only do the reserves NOT get 11 days off a month during 31 day months, I'm sure you're well aware that the way Pinnacle loves to staff, reserves are really only guaranteed FAA minimum (24 hours off every 7 days/ protected to 1 DAY off in 7 per 1999 CBA) days off per month. So as little as 4 days off.
