Also as a new hire you will have almost zero say in your schedule. There are junior FOs that have been at the whim of scheduling for almost three years. Not trying to come off as a d**k - just want you to have the facts. O no I understand. I am making it sound like the only reason why I'm going to try to go to asa is the being at home overnights. That's kinda ridiculous if it was the only reason. I know about the sitting of rsv and not having a line for a long time but id rather be with a company that is moving forward..have aircraft that don't break down every other leg ..a good contract..good training..and a stable place to work. Asa has a good reputation in the airline world and everyone iv jumpseated with has all said they enjoy working for them..even the junior just off of furlough guys. |
Wow for me it would be great. I live in Atlanta. I've been commuting for the better part of 4 years. I'd love for that to end!

For what it's worth, 4 interviewed on Friday, 3 interviewed on Saturday, the lowest total time was just over 2000 hours with over 400 hours multi engine. About half had prior turbine and 2 were prior 121. The youngest was about 25 and the oldest was 55 with the other 5 pretty neatly dispursed throughout those 2 ages. All 7 had instructed at some point, two had been Chief Pilots somewhere and one had been an Assistant Chief Pilot. One was former ASA who had gone to Continental and didn't like it, so decided to come back (That was weird to me too, but different strokes for different folks).

Got the call today for interview this week. Oct 11 class if I pass the interview. No internal rec. But I am ATL local.

Can you tell me (PM is fine) what the equipment assignment breakdown for that class was? |
The newhire class is all CL-600-2b19 (CRJ200) initial training. After they complete that, it is possible they could attend CRJ700/900 differences, but I do not know in which aircraft their are vacancies.
On the good news front, there should have been a posting for 31 (ish) CRJ200 captain positions today. Movement is always a good thing. |
