Here's some good info on the health objections some have over the scanners. Written by a team of radiologists, so there is some technical jargon in there.

Why? Becuase we never took a stand ..
What does it take to all pilots to get together and refuse to fly one day.. Just one day..
ALPA tried that forty years ago over the government's failure to respond to hijacking. Participation was unimpressive back then, and the issue was much more important that CrewPass.

Well that's concerning --

"G) Because of the proximity of the testicles to skin, this tissue is at risk for
sperm mutagenesis.

...

The TSA is already complaining about resolution limitations; who will keep the manufacturers and/or TSA from just raising the dose, an easy way to improve signal-to-noise and get higher resolution? Lastly, given the recent incident (on December 25th), how do we know whether the manufacturer or TSA, seeking higher resolution, will scan the groin area more slowly leading to a much higher total dose?"

I have never met Bree Olson but I have spanked it to pics of her.....

I don't have them. So until someone shows me another way to make sure nobody, and I mean no-body has something like that on them, then I say get scanned or drive.

p.s.
The reason I emphasized nobody is that I can envision a few scenarios where the mule is not someone who would be stopped in a profiling scenario.
Its impossible! Unless you plan on searching every persons body cavities, ripping into peoples shoes, and completely prohibiting liquids you wont have a chance. Did you know that saline solution, breast milk, and certain other liquids are allowed through in whatever quantity you want? Lets hassle every one else about 3 oz but then allow some passenger with 16oz bottle labeled saline to waltz right on through. Lets take away can openers and then give that same passenger a metal knife in first class. Regardless of the fact that for almost 10 yrs we have been scanning for only metal weapons when ceramic and plastic weapons have been available and almost anything inside an airplane can be used as a weapon. The policies just dont make sense.

There are people out there that want to hurt innocent people. It is unavoidable that there will be another attack. Anyone with half a brain could figure out a dozen ways to do harm. If you find ways to stop that dozen loopholes there will be another dozen left open.

Lets stop spending money on ineffective screening equipment and close the most blatant safety problems. Require a secondary barrier to the cockpit, provide hand to hand training to flight attendants, and lets get rid of these thousands of useless screeners and hire more police with k9 units.

Here is a thought if something did happen in an airport terminal. who do you think would be more helpful a police officer or a 35,000 a yr TSA agent? That TSA agent is on the bus home the second anything goes down.

I'm just hoping the next "attack" doesn't involve a would-be terrorist smuggling a stick of dynamite onto an airplane in his/her rectum. The moment getting to work involves some slack-jawed, GED-holding, authority-abusing goon in a blue shirt taking a look up the chocolate highway, I am OUT OF HERE! Management or the pax can move the bus themselves.

do you REALLY think this guy would've tried what he did if we had the scanners??

come on man, they know how we look for it and where we look for it and they just try something we're not looking for.

Some people do and then some people do not due to the fact that the mindset of our enemies can be hard for them to fathom in regards to the brutality of their actions.

Does anyone know how to get in touch with him? Jeff at Rocky Flats Gear asked me to try to find contact info for him, he wants to send him a free 3-pack of his radiation resistent underwear.
