If you went from ASA to Delta and had to start your pass travel date over doesnt mean it should continue to be that way. Thats the same reason people give for keeping first year pay down. "i did it so why dont you". Improving it for ourselves AND the people following behind us is the key. Oh and stop contracting flying to the regionals.

When you get left behind because the mainline ramper that just got hired last week beat you on you are saying that he is more important than you. I would say that you or I have much more invested in that mainline carrier than said ramper. WAKE UP!
Because are not employed by the mainline company.

There was a station agent in GFK that worked for North Central then Northwest then after 2006 mainline pulls out and he was then pinnacle then after pinnacle pulls out he was REAS. Where should he get to travel his current employee date of 2-28-10 or his retiree date January 65?

So then how would you feel if all DCI people had higher priority on ALL DCI flights then mainline folks regardless of the DCI carrier?
While this does not really happen, but to all of our dismay regional flying is really taking over the domestic market. Then DCI people could say the samething... you dont work for Delta Connection so you shouldnt have the same priority. I have a feeling Delta people would be really PO'd who are commuting from FWA,BTV,SBN etc etc.
Or how would you feel if you commute home was cnxld after a 10 day trip in Asia because one of the pilots couldnt commute to work, because a Delta buddy pass rider got on ahead of him/her??
Its a tough call, but giving crewmembers at DCI a better priority would help us all out.

I'm personally not so peeved about priority for myself, as I am for my travel beneficiaries...

especially since they have to pay so much more now (ZED High) than they did under NW for their tix. At least, old style, it was a one way assessed fare of a fixed value per leg, and they got on at my priority. Paying ZED high is ridiculous when they have the same priority on Delta as they do on any other ZED carrier (which, oh by the way, was the reason Delta didn't continue it's ZED-M agreements with other carriers, so that there's no financial incentive to take the same priority with a different carrier).

Delta guys...

I'll be honest, the way we're treated, I always ALWAYS recommend friends, family, and travel benefits enrollees NEVER to fly on Delta, because there's no point with our benefits to do so.

Delta owns your seats. I don't think you'll see any mainline employees complain about our priority over you. Most mainline employees want to see DCI go away.

People . . . just buy a ZED pass on a foreign airline and skip the crap you are talking about unless it is wide open.

The service and entertainment options are SO MUCH BETTER, even in coach. You are also typically competing against significantly fewer non-revs, if any at all.

And you don't think most DCI employees want to see DCI go away? Most pilots, FAs, schedulers, dispatchers and most everyone else would be much better off working at mainline.

THIS.

Giving mainline guys priority on DCI is one way management keeps the senior guys from concerning themselves with the thousands of outsourced ERJs, CRJs, and EMBs flying DC9, M88, and A320 routes. As far as the senior guys are concerned, the flying never changed hands - they're still first on the standby list!
