Colgan uniform questions
#21
Okay. Maybe I came across harsh and abrasive, but it disheartens me to see crews that don't match.
The leather jacket is my opinion only. Do not take it personally anyone. I just want people to take enough pride in their uniform to wear it professionally.
Cruise- you are not "that guy" buy you know the types I'm talking about.

I just bought the leather jacket from M and H for two reasons.
1. To look as good as Cruise
2. Almost $400 in uniform allowance to a company who sells NOTHING I am interested in.
I have spent far too many days waiting for the van in Montreal or similar freezing and I never spent any money on that chester the molester trench coat to begin with.
Besides, think of how amazing I will look.

Welcome to the club. Only now will you be exposed to the coolness that is me.
I welcome the company, being up here was getting lonely.
I got tired of schlepping around multiple jackets, taking up way too much room in my rollaboard every winter. So, I went to the leather and thus far, I'm very glad I did. Warm and multi-roll function, go figure....why didn't I do this years ago???

I didn't go w/ the M&H jacket for one reason....I think their stuff is junk. I didn't want to risk it w/ the jacket too.

I am holding out little to no hope for the M&H as well. As mentioned the only single reason I bought it there is that I have to blow that $400 uniform allowance balance somehow. Had I bought elsewhere it would have been out of pocket.

I was looking at Pop's leather or Gibson Barnes but they don't show 9L as a selection for Epps, and nametag. I'd hate to spend that much of the wife's money on a coat just to be told I can't wear it due to uniform standards. Any suggestions or am I stuck with MH?

Colgan doesn't have a uniform standard. in any given crew you'll see one guy with a trench no hat, one guy with leather and a hat, on FA with black kicks and a blazer and one with dockers (blue doesn't match at all on dockers) and a vest.
We look like shi* plain and simple. But this company has no class or standards so it reflects in the way we look in the terminal.
Wearing the uniform well is important in my opinion. How we look, speak and act are half of the product as far as the traveling public are concerned. We really need to get fitted for good uniforms and have some enforcement of the standard. Some leather jackets look great some look like complete crap. Many pilots can't seem to tell the difference. Many pilots do not dry clean their pants and it shows. It looks like amateur flight instructor hour. (not their fault entirely as it can get expensive and they pay us so little, but the result is the same none the less). Pilots don't replace their shirts often enough or scrub the collars resulting in ring around the collar and ratty looking shirts. Our blues don't match between the pants, coat, hat and tie which sometimes is very obvious and looks horrible.
I hope when the merger is said and done, we get new uniforms.
