Default 9E/XJ Pass Travel Changes

I didn't see this posted anywhere but the new pass policy for 9E and XJ will be effective sometime in January 2011. A few positives but not so sure the transoceanic travel days going to 6 and losing seniority for travel purposes anything over 6 is a move in the right direction...it's going backwards. Goes to S4, date of travel. Basically, behind "all" buddy pass riders and still paying the flight day 'penalty'. So they are gaining 3 more free travel days with the exchange of going to S4 for transoceanic travel over 6. Everything else appears to be an improvement.

That is horrendous.

Maybe it explains why I saw a Pinnacle CRJ taxi by all green and slimy covered in type 4 today when there was essentially zero precipitation.

Bean counters . . . take note.

Wasn't it only 3 international days before? So now you essentially get 2 more trips.

Anything over 3 trans days, all seniority and S3C boarding status was kept, just paid the fees involved; now yes, you get 2 more trips but your 4th trip and beyond, 'all' seniority is lost and date of travel is used for seniority at S4 status. Personally, if given the choice in this situation, I'd pay the fees and keep my seniority and S3C status for travel.

Too many buddy pass riders overseas to fall behind and trying to get back home in time for work will be even more impossible.

2 more trips? It's going from 3 to 6? That'd be 1 more trip.

It's horrible. Pass privelages were much better when XJ was owned by DL.

Lest we forget that 9E still has a jumpseat agreement with Delta Airlines that contains no restriction on international jumpseating (cabin of course), other than paying taxes. This is regularly violated by Delta (management) policies making us pay for international travel days.

I wonder what would happen if you did not pay the $50 for non-rev/Travelnet, and went to the gate to list as a cabin jumpseater for a flight to London...hmmmm....technically we are supposed to be able to UNLIMITED, as long as the CA is ok with it....

And don't even get me started on the fact that our contract explicitly says we get buddy passes...company response "WE aren't denying you buddy passes, DELTA is...DELTA owns the seats, so we can't really give you buddy passes." Almost as bad as the Wall Street p.o.s.'s testifying to Congress on how they created the subprime mess and profited hugely from it....

And XJ--we had the same prior to the merger...16 buddy passes per year, if you're single you get a travel companion (my sis was mine) who also got 16 passes per year, no restrictions on international days (as much as you want).

Only diff was on NWA you had to pay a small surcharge for 1st--but almost ALL FAs and pilots were like "move to first as soon as the gate agent closes the door so you don't get charged."

Oh how I miss NWA...miss the logo, miss the people, miss the operation...
